    Day 9

Hello Diary, just updating with todays payment, I seem to be trying to do a payment a day as it makes me feel like I am making progress!! Had to take my daughter to get her feet measured today so bought her new shoes and a new top and trousers and shirt for my son as they are getting photos taken on Tuesday next week. Didn't spend as much as I anticipated, so the £20 that was left has gone to the Northern Rock loan. I felt a little bad today spending money when I am trying to get debt free but the kids needed something for their photos and I didn't go too crazy - I have to keep telling myself that they will get more treats once I am actually debt free!

Updated percentages below, not much, but every little helps!! Probably won't be on tomorrow so Happy Mothers Day to all the mummies out there, my DD can't wait to give me my surprises - bless!!

    DAY 9 Progress = 31% Paid / 69% Outstanding
  • My Loan now stands at 1954.50

I have to work out what to pay to what card. But that will have to wait untill I can log into my bank account.

not been doing much tho, that loan payment is just my normal one!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Hello CWC82

I have been reading through your diary since yesterday and have subscribed. I think you are doing really well and as you say every little bit helps and the fact that you did spend and manage to pay something extra is great. Well done you and give yourself a pat on the back.

The diaries on here are a great inspiration to many so well done on starting yours. I will follow you with interest.;)

    Days 10-19

Oh dear, I haven't been very good these past ten days at updating my diary or paying off my loan I'm afraid!! :( I have been away with the kids for a week, staying with my parents which was lovely but it means the debt busting has fallen by the wayside!!

I'm back home now tho, and have paid £20 to the loan until I can work out how much more I can pay. Its now half way through the month for me in terms of pay so I always start to struggle from this point until my next payday!! I have updated my percentages below, although its not a huge change, I guess every percent counts and if I had stuck to my minimum monthly repayment I would have only paid 4% of the balance so when I look at it like that I guess its better than it could have been!

Have to sign off for now as its breakfast time for baby but will be back on later once I come up with a plan to make more cash this month!!

Hi Footiemad - thanks for your message - sorry for the delay in replying!! I'm getting there slowly, although its slowing down dramatically as I get further through the month! Hopefully I will manage to muster up some more cash before payday!

The diaries are really inspirational, they've helped me loads during my debt free journey, even just reading through them to see how other people are clearing their debts and increasing their incomes.

Thanks Flee!! Its starting to feel like a "plod" now! I'm really glad I have it under £1k it makes it seem a little less bad and a bit more manageable. I'm starting to struggle now as I thought my childminder was on holiday this week and I wouldn't have fee's to pay, but I got the dates wrong, so thats money that would have gone to the debt that isn't - never mind!

    Day 20

Think today I will go and have a look and see if I have anything else to ebay. I'm struggling to find things now as I seem to have no clothes that would be sell-able and everything I have left from previous clear outs has sentimental value and I wouldn't want to sell!

Will see how I get on today and post back either later, or tomorrow!

    Day 32 :(

Well I am now on day 32 of what was supposed to be a 30 day challenge... which I have failed!! I have only managed to pay off 40% of the total that I wanted to have cleared.... :(

I suppose it was a bit of a long shot, but I am going to keep going at it, as I am nearly at 50% of the total, so once I get past the half way point it hopefully won't take long. And on the plus side if I hadn't started this challenge I would have only paid off 4% so if I look at it that way, then I've done not too bad!

I will keep updating as I make payments, but am going to have to think of something to raise some extra funds as I have my DD's birthday party to pay for this month, and her birthday is before my next pay day so will have to buy her presents etc.

Will be back with another update as soon as I have one!!

40% in one month is still AMAZING!!! I am doing the one debt vs 100 days challenge and think that will be a challenge- never mind blitzing 40% of a debt in 30days!!! Keep on plodding away.
Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage :o
