  • Thanks for that matto, in that case it must be at least 4.5m above, although there is a long horizontal run from the tank to the tap.

If you just pump the hot side you may well end up with more problems. You really need balanced supplies on both hot and cold. Your tap is a contenental one and suitable for a high pressure system only, and we see this problem regularly. I think you either change the tap, or pump or convert to a high pressure system. Many of the modern and lovely taps are all made for contenental systems. Again I would say its worth considering where you are, how old your systems are, are you going to stay in the house and is it worth changing things. If for example you might be doing the bathroom in the near future you may run into the same problems.

note for plumb 1 again, which showroom am I promoting? as last time I looked I did not give any details. I was commenting what many good retailers could do in this instance, including us. we would have asked the question of the client what type of plumbing sytem they had before we sold them this tap. so if you look again, as this is anonymous, by definition I cant really be promoting my business can I. I hope this clarifies things for you.
  • Wel no solution that won't cost me a lot to this, so I've decided to gt Christmas out of the way then top meself.
  • Hi guys,
I know the discussion was a long time ago but I was thinking of buying the same tap, googled it and found you...
We have a cheaper pull-out spray now and we have a pump for hot and cold in the whole flat but still have a problem (in addition to not being able to flush the loo at night...:()! If we open the tap on hot only, nothing happens for a few seconds (sometimes tens of seconds! if at all) before the pump kicks in and any water comes out. The trick is to open the cold (mains) first, then switch to hot, but it is still slow and annoying. Any suggestions? Would a better tap like the Blanco make any difference?
    Thanks!
