Im so sorry for your loss, would it help to talk? life is so very cruel sometimes, what did the ambulance staff do wrong? we put our faith in Drs and Ambulance people but they do let us down sometimes, My dad was very ill before christmas and the Dr wouldn't admit him to hospital we had to get him in. Please find some support so you can be there for your son x

I am so sorry for your families loss, that is tragic. It must be terribly painfull and Im sure I would also not know how to help or comfort parents going through what your son and his girlfriend are going through. Just be there for them and listen. Is there someone for you to turn to as well. Hope you have some good friends who can give lots of support in any way you need.

I am so so sorry for you and your family.

My daughter died the day after her birth 15 months ago, she was born 1 week past her due date and was a first child and grandchild on both sides. We all still miss her so much. I know the shock and sadness is so very raw for you all right now and it takes a lot of time.

I found the following books very helpful:

Empty Cradle, Broken Heart - Surviving the death of your baby - Deborah L Davis
When a Baby Dies: The Experience of Late Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Neonatal Death - Alix Henley and Nancy Kohner

Sands are an incredible support, the helpline is very good and is there for everyone affected by the death of a baby, not just the parents - 0207 436 5881.

The Sands meetings and online forum have been a huge support.

    I am so sorry.

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and words it means such a lot to us x

i was very raw when i posted yesterday as we had arranged the funeral in the morning.

they are only 18 and 21 but they have been so strong and dignified i dont know how they do it, they would have made wonderful parents, they did all the right things, had everything ready for his arrival, my heart goes out to them and whatever i do i cant make it better.

both son and dil have great family support and we are just trying to get them through it little by little.

i am so so sorry for all the babies lost on this thread.

thank you for all the links and advice.

i chose his flowers today, a litle butterfly, one landed on my son yesterday.

For anyone who would like to donate, Sands continue to do amazing work to suppport bereaved parents but also do a huge amount of research into Stillbirth and Neonatal death prevention:

Sands are pretty good in this situation, as posted above.
It's happened to us 3 times before our daughter arrived safely, and is more common than people think :(
