You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

I'm so sorry for you and your family - my nephew was stillborn at 39 weeks last October, I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time, and you never really relax until after the birth, all of a sudden you know it can happen to your family, up till then it was something that happens to other people (and I'm a midwife so it's not like I wasn't aware stillbirths didn't exist).
Take your lead from your son and his partner, this is the wrong cycle of things, no one expects to bury a child and my nephews funeral was the hardest thing I've ever gone through (and that includes caring for other women going through it). It does get easier after the funeral, but that empty space which that baby occupies in your heart will never be filled.
If you want to talk PM me, from what you have posted it sounds as if something went wrong but be prepared for the fact that you may never get a cause - 50% of stillbirths are unexplained even with a postmortem0 -
