Baby travel system advice, Bugaboo, Icandy, Oyster ???

My DD & I are still looking at buggys.

She wants a travel system that holds a carry cot, a car seat & a normal pushchair, a 3 in 1 I think they are called.

She had settled on an Oyster Pearl, simply because its the smallest & lightest of the 3 in 1s on the market & she has a Ka.

But it looks like the Ka is going to be traded in for a bigger car (not huge but small family sized car).

This means the choice isn't so limited & the Bugaboos & Icandys etc come into play.

She doesn't like the Stokke range (even the highchairs which is a shame because I love the highchairs).

So do you have a Bugaboo or an Icandy or similar & love it?
Why is it so great?
Anything bad about any of the popular makes?
The budget is still that same as it was for a new Oyster, so a "trendy" one will have to be off ebay to come in on budget.

Knowing how great MSE is for advice I thought I would throw this out for pearls of wisdom:T

A friend of mine was given all these as samples to do some testing last year for a baby magazine. She picked the iCandy as the outright winner on all parts. And she is a great mother to plenty so has lots of pram experience!

What about a Maxi Cosi Mura?

We had one and it was fanbloodytastic!

We had the pushchair itself, a hard bodied carrycot and the maxi cosi cabrio car seat. We got the pushchair and carrycot, changing bag and cositoes on offer in Mothercare for £299 and we paid £80 for the car seat as we got 20% off for something or other.

Are there any independant nursery shops near to you both where she can go and have a look at the ones she is interested in?

No good just choosing one because it looks good or because of good reviews if she won't get along with it. It's important to be shown how to use them and put them up and down safely.

She's young I think she wants one of the "trendy" ones:o

She really did like the Icandy (as recommended above).

Maxi Cosi aren't untrendy! :rotfl: I bet the most car seats sold that clip onto a chassis are the Maxi Cosi Cabrio's.

Mine was a different colourway to those on that site.

She's just a typical new young Mum, I was the same when I had my first ~ if it looked good and was cool then I wanted it!

    I've learnt 3rd time round though :D

Definitely try to get her to look and have a play with the iCandy though, I LOVED pram shopping! :j

I thought I wanted an I candy as they looked great online but I thought they were heavy and not very manoueverable when I tried one out in store. We went for a bugaboo in the end which I love. It's so easy and light and turns on a sixpence. Though I went for the bee which does not have a carrycot option, so the chamaleon which does may not have the same advantages.

Sooo pretty, but how much?!

Saying that though, it's a good job I didn't know Radley did baby chaging bags or that's what I would have bought :o
