The throw is lovely. And so are socks and slippers.
Candles could be a problem. In lots of rented accommodation it stipulates on the contract you can't burn naked flames including candles due to the number of small fires caused by candles.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

:oim 20 - read way to many books - not into fashion stuff either
i would say leave out the bathy stuff unless you know she really likes it or its a perfume she really likes,
i out of all that if i was away at uni (im at home) id like the homey stuff like piccie frames maybe ask her mum for a nice fam photo or one from a family even
when i give frames i usually stick a few photos in so they can change when they like
or yeah if shes like me big fluffy comfy stuffYes Your Dukeiness

How about a nice shopping/courier/record type bag, one she can sling over the and is big enough to carry folders etc. I got a nice canvas one form Internationale for £5 but lots of shops have them in all materials.0

Matalan have furry throws for about £20 I think - there are a quite a few around so you shouldn't have trouble finding one. Next do them as well but not sure how much they are.
I'd echo the comments about perfume - maybe give her a Boots voucher instead so she can get her own smellies or basic toiletries?
ikkleosu's bag idea is good too - Topshop etc all have bags for about £5 that are great for carrying books and I see loads of the local students carrying them.
If you're going to get a book voucher what about an amazon voucher instead of WH Smiths? WH Smiths can be expensive in comparison and don't always have the books needed for uni courses.0 -
Well I'm 24 and a throw sounds good to me! I was always wrapped in my dressing gown/duvet at uni!
Internacionale do nice faux fur throws and matching cushions usually reduced if you have one near you?
Also as a 'stocking filler' how about a book light? You can get them for around £1 anywhere and they save on the leccy!0 -
My student house was FREEZING - luckily my (now husband) lived close by and his rented house was really warm so i used to go there to have baths!! so i think anything that is warm is a good idea.
I got dh as dressing gown in primark last year for under a tenner and it is fab much better than mine that was 30 quid from littlewoods (present from my mum i wouldnt have spent 30 quid on it!) so i would defo recommend primark dressing gowns!
Throws are brilliant too.
i think she will also appreciate the thought that has gone into it.Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)0 -

when stood waiting ti pay in IKEA a few weeks ago, I overheard some young students commenting on that for christmas this year they'd like a new duvet set, hot water bottle, towels etc - things that people wouldn't really think of buying young free and single party loving students - so I think your list is great - go for it!
