Cycling to work..

Good point, well made.You have said you spend £10 on petrol and parking both of which will only increase. £130 is only 3 months saving or £260 6 months. I would try and stretch you budget.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. If I had £260 spare to spend on a bike then I would. Or if I could pay it off £10 a week.0

Even more reason to consider CTW - Cycle to work scheme. You can pay £10 per month and only end up paying the value of the bike before tax, so you save even more.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Well that's currently going for £150 (and it will go up). If you can afford that, then get to your local bike shop, tell them your budget and see if they can find you a hybrid for that. The best my LBS can do without going into the second hand section (which many have) is £200. Don't know where you are in Wales, but google should be able to find you several nearby bike shops to go to.
Be careful when buying off ebay that a lot of bikes are stolen, and also you will have to set the bike up yourself (as well as taking a chance on sizing).
I know you said you wanted to go riding on the coast: is this on the sustrans cycleway or on mountain bike trails/bridleways? I regularly ride my hybrid bike on cycleways, but they aren't up to muddy trails."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0 -

There's nothing about Charity's being unable to apply in FAQs;
http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/employer,faqs.htm
There is no minimum or maximum company size necessary to sign up to the scheme. Eligible employees must: be paying PAYE, earn more than the National Minimum Wage after salary sacrifice, and have a contract that does not end during the hire period. Employees who earn close to the National Minimum Wage following salary sacrifice may wish to discuss with their employer the option of loan or pool bikes. There is no credit check for employees wishing to participate.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
