    Anyone know any more details? is the rate changing for existing account holders, and is it really from Friday without informing anyone?

    ...says the changes will be with effect from 27th June. Maybe it is for new accounts the changes will be from 1st April.

    There is a thread in the Budgeting and Banking Forum with a link to some information in one of the posts.

    I think Friday was the day when you couldn't open an account with more that £5,000 which is what we wanted to do, so the money advisor was warning us about it before we opened the accounts.

    I think they are required to give 60 days' notice so they're announcing it now to come into effect in June.

    ... as a mark of disgust I will withdraw my 21K in June and put it in the best instant access account around at the time and close my Llyods no-advantage accounts.

    You might be hard-pushed to find 3% in June, even if Bank Rate goes up, so reducing your balances to £5k per account might be a better option. Only time will tell.

    .................the amount of brochures, cheque books. debit cards etc they sent out with these accounts must have cost a bit, now their changing the rules so people will be leaving them in droves.....
