Redruby Bullying is a horrible horrible thing, I had a friend who's sone did the same thing after being bullied... it's devistating. My son gets bullied, and I find the school know, but do very little about it... when he was 7 the boy kicked him in the testicles... and he got a slap on the wrist!!! The boy slaps, punches, strangles and kicks...! So sad when it leads to this though x
Lowesy I hope you husband get's treated and is better soon x
Julie67 absolutly we have the same taste :D Good taste :D If you lived closer I could loan you books and DVD's (yes I have her movies too!), but alas... you are moving to Oz instead!

Hello everyone else, hope the day is treating you well x

Another lovely day, I have been planning food and days out for when my friends come over from Norway (in July!) as I have to feed 7 instead of 3 for 2 weeks... and with my special dietary requirements... and their special dietary requirements.... it's taken me close to a week to sort out evening meals!!!

Now I can save up the money for the extra meat i'm going to need, and start hoarding extra 'everything' to make sure we have enough! They also eat larger portions then we do... so it's scary how much it can cost us... what with petrol for 2 cars, admission to places and food!

Tonight I am making vegetarian sausage and onion, wholewheat toad in the whole with veg and gravy!

Tonight is cubs and then food shopping (only need fresh fruit/veg so really quick tonight)!

My DS8 is thinking of buying himself a camera... I am in a dilema... so I encourage him to spend £30 and constantly need batteries or £70 and it's got a charger???? He has the money for either... but £70 (plus a case and memory card) is a lot...!

    What do you guys think?

Kit77 I would say go for it with the low GI, I feel soo much better, my IBS seems to have cleared up and my cravings are so much better controlled. JulieGeorgiana is more of an expert than me and I think a few others on here are low GI as well so we should be able to help.:D

Just got back from town and bought the presents I needed for a reasonable price, a glorious day in Manchester although it's not quite hot pants weather as some seemed to think:eek: I shall save mine for a few more weeks:D:rotfl:

I bought a new book as my DD says its the best book she has ever read (she is also a Nora Roberts addict) its One Day by David Nicholls so I will let you know what I think.

I am very pleased with myself as I've been out to lunch and had veg soup without the bread, can't say I missed it at all and really enjoyed the soup. I am absolutley bloomin determined to get to a healthy weight and be able to go into Zara or wherever and be able to buy what I want. My DD is a tiny size 8 naturally slim you would never guess she had a baby 20 mnths ago but she still thinks she's fat. I don't suppose any of us are ever really happy with what we've got:cool:

Anyway this sun is making my french windows look filthy so off to clean them. Catch up later x

Kit77 Changing to Gi can be a headache... but it's well worth it in the end... I've lost 1 and a half stone in 5 weeks! And that's a side effect!! I had to do it for health reasons x

You food looks more expensive... but truth is it costs us about about the same as I eat less now... the first few weeks cost more x

The 'diets' are aimed at loosing weight... I recommend the Collins Gem Gi book it just tells you what food colour each food type is (Green, Orange, Red) you eat Green when you want, you eat some orange, and limit/remove reds! No weighing food (unless you need to follow a more complicated diet like I do) you just eat less pasta/rice, more veg and nut and seeds.

The book works on a VVCP principle (Veg, Veg, Carb, Protein) so having lots of frozen veg in the house helps!

The I know two people who have bought the book and love it :D

You don't need the GL book, because the descriptions in this book will point out items which are not as good/bad as they seem (ie. Pasta is green, BUT the GL is Red... so you should limit this food!)

Next thing you know you are not as hungry, you don't need as much food... you moods even out and you just feel better for it.

I have no had any 'RED' gi food in 6 weeks and I don't miss it, I don't crave it!

I make my own bread and use stoneground wholewheat flour for everything x

Please ask questions if you want x
