Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 24rd March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning all,
Bright and beautiful here again, meant to be getting colder by the weekend, hope it doesn't get too cold. Left some washing out last night, so it can stay there till I get home from work, should be dry then.
DD is off to the theatre tonight to see two short plays, she will go home with her friend for tea, and then go together, I will collect them later and drop friend home.
So it will be an easy dinner for OH and I burger and chips :T.
DD had some sad news yesterday, someone who she knew through a friend commited suicide by jumping in front of a train, he was only an 18 year old lad who was being bullied. DD and friends were obviously very upset last night, no sympathy needed for us, but it really makes you see the effect that bullying can have , his poor family x
Got my food delivery coming tonight, and will do another wash.
Have good days all x

Mist has lifted and the sun is shining so looks like another beautiful day :j more washing will be done needless to say.
Had a lovely meal and good catch up with friends last night.
Today is normal stuff, office this morning & then housework. Will have a route around in the freezer for something for dinner tonight.
Bought some seeds yesterday and need to get some pottting compost today. Also need to try and get a docs appointment for DS, he is at home again today with earache.

Morning all, not as sunny as previous days here, but still bright. Today I MUST clean and tidy the house - am going to take a leaf out of Tigerlilys book and do 15 min blitzs. The bathroom is a particularly messy area today. Before I go to bed I plan to spray oven cleaner so that tomorrow I will clean it. Planted out all my tomatoes yesterday, so will be looking after them. Need to get in the garage a bit and get to the dog food and the hanging baskets.
Got to get on as have to chivvy up children to get ready for school. back later xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Morning all
Misty but the sun is now breaking through, looks like being another lovely day here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was lovely lamb casserole with mash, brussels, carrots, green beans and broccolli. Friend came over after school yesterday for coffee and chat.
Therapy was cancelled yesterday afternoon, so is now re-booked for next week. Tonights dinner is HM lasgne with chips for menfolk and jacket potato/salad for me.
Will be heading to the scales shortly and to buy a new sky remote control, DS2 seems to have broken it last night!! Needless to say he's not too popular at the moment!! Will be quick in town as I had a big "to do" list today and need to get majority of it done, so will be a busy bee. Will be menu planning and writing shopping list later too.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

morning all
fabulous day yesterday, days annual leave (so already good!), two mattresses disposed of, 1 on freecycle, our dodgy one to the tip, car load of garden waste to the recycling centre, two new mattresses delivered, and a sofa collected by another freecycler.
2 trays each of carrot, spring onion, radish and tomato seeds sown, and 3 planters of shallot sets sorted, prettied up the front of the house with some pansies, and gave it all a good clean. Also disguised the hideous dead Russian Ivy, and falling down fence from next door that they refuse to do anything about, with some bamboo screening - genius invention. didn't managed to bake cookies, it was just too warm. i had shorts and vest on when I was working in the garden, couldn't believe how nice it was. Dinner was hm pizza, really nice and a couple of bacardi and cokes as I had earned them!
Today I am back to work:( and its a bit foggy here, but looking like that will soon burn off.
Dinner tonight looks like sausage and mash, and I'll see if I can get those cookies made.
have a great day all

Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday LouDS - hope you have a good day x
Redruby how horrible for your DD and her friends. A girl my DD knew committed suicide some years ago. Not a close friend but it caused a great deal of distress to a huge number of people. The whole school was in shock. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Horridly foggy here. I want to strip the beds and get the bedding out on the line!! Think I will do it anyway and be optimistic.
Dinner is going to be something made with a chicken and veg soup base mix from the freezer. Think I will thin some out with stock to have for soup with hm bread for lunch, and then add lentils to the rest and make into lasagne or make it into cannelloni? A decision will be made before dinner time.
Housework and garden work all need to be addressed - actually I mean need to be done!!!
Hugs to those who need or want, Happy Thursday,
Cheers m'dears, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
