attention seeking husband

  • How about contacting the DVLA and notifying them on his behalf that he loses consciousness without warning?

Once they revoke his licence, he'll soon be either growing out of them or getting himself down the doctors to get it properly checked out.

(said because I tend to get dizzy and faint when I've done a bit too much in certain conditions [hot, standing for long times, etc]- used to keel over after playing trumpet for more than a couple of hours, which is apparently a bit of a giveaway for the condition. And people with issues with neck problems/narrowing of the carotid artery/low blood pressure/heart rhythm issues can do much the same, so it is vaguely within the realm of possibilities that he has something not picked up on before).

If that were the case, he could be very worried about it. Even if he were prone to panic attacks/hyperventilation and is fainting as a result of overbreathing, this can be very scary and he might genuinely think he is going to die, but faints instead as the body takes over sensible management.

Either way, he has to go to the doctor and get checked out - that way he will either be proven genuine or outed as a complete nob who is just a millstone round your neck.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Surely if he had passed out you would have heard a thud. This does sound deliberate. If it wasn't attention seeking and he felt genuinely unwell wouldn't he just have gone and laid down on the bed. Or called out and said he felt unwell and asked you to get the jim-jams. No wonder you feel !!!!ed off OP

not at all im just saying i don't think hes one of those people who would try and smother a child to get a ride in a nee nor like some sick people ive heard about but if i thought he was anything like that I wouldn't stay here, my kids come 1st, just trying to understand it, I was being light hearted in my reply as I thought you were

You're still making excuses for him. And he allowed your young child to think that he was unconscious/dead. My god!

Does someone have to belt you over the noggin with a neon billboard shouting 'DANGER! DANGER! DANGER!' before you take this seriously?

I've just read your other threads about your husband.

He gets bullied in work, you think he's a lazy git and now he is doing strange things like in the OP of this thread.

Sounds like he could be depressed or mentally ill. I'd tell him to go and see his GP.

    I don't get it either

He asked you what happened? Are you sure he didn't have some sort of seizure??

Why would he do that otherwise.. after a good day together.. I don't get it at all.. something is seriously wrong there

Force him to go the docs, he may well be attention seeking, but he is obviously doing it for a reason. He does sound like he may have MH issues.
I too read your other thread

If he had had some kind of seizure wouldn't it have taken him longer to come round. Also would he not have had some kind of accident (sorry to be blunt but like wet himself). A friends hubby had some kind of seizure, lost consciousness and this is what happened to him. If nothing is wrong and he is doing this for attention that is awful. Must be very worrying for the OP.
