in Techie Stuff
I only use my laptop to blog, check out facebook and to store some pictures of my children.
Still the C drive shows it is full and every morning I log in it tells me to delete stuff before I can do anything.
I've checked for viruses by doing a full scan with Avast and I've done malwarebytes. Both comes out clean
Not being very techie I have no idea what to do now.
Cant find anything to delete, got no games on as far as I know, no big files stored that I can see, so any suggestions would be welcome

Have you given ccleaner a run?

I know there is a program that shows where the big files are on the hard drive, but I don't know the name of it. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along in a few.Sigless0 -

Have you got System Restore turned on?
Download WinDirStat and run it. It will tell you what's on your HDD
If you can't download it, follow Lokolo's instruction and navigate your way through your folders, starting at C: and working your way down to see what's eating up the space.
If you're running Vista, prime suspect is the Winsxs (?) folder0 -
Vista? by any chance0

Dont want to hijack post but I ran the WinDirStat and it says that windows installer is using 61.2% @4.4GB
Any idea how to solve this ?
Thank you"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

Try this:
http://download.cnet.com/SpaceSniffer/3000-18512_4-10913555.html
Breaks it down see where your space is being used. May be a folder deep down you forgot about or a temp folder you dont know about.0
