ING Cheating customers again (merged)

Hello, I didn't realise they weren't raising the interest rate, I have been waiting for them to do so!
It's such a shame, as it is such a straight forward and easy banking website.
However, I will be closing mine now. You can't be sentimental where money is concerned.

5.25% AER
Save from £1 - £25,000
Interest paid monthly
Please note: While you’ll be able to withdraw money from your ING Direct Web Saver Account whenever you wish, no interest will be paid on the total balance in any month in which a withdrawal is made.
Which is pretty rubbish, really.0 -
Yes, only JUST realised that ING - the sneaky devils - have a websaver tied to every direct savings account.
You need to log in then access "savings products" or some such to "activate" it.
That really does make a mockery of their "one great rate for everyone".
Still, I can't be bothered opening up yet another account with yet another bank, so have taken the bait.
Apparently I'll receive details within two working days.
EDIT: I'll just have to remember to withdraw monies at the start of the month, to avoid losing too much.0 -

(5.3% not 5.35%)
A quite different Google cache of the same page for 18th November is here. So it's within the last week certainly.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
You'd have thought they would at least have matched the A&L Direct Saver (5.38%) seeing as how they're using a similar name for the product and applying the same 'no interset in the month you withdraw' clause.0

Why all the emotion? ING is a bank, not a lover
.
We know what games banks play. We are here to take advantage
.
No-one has any permanent "right" to a savings rate that always stays above the BofE rate. It's just not logical. We've all got to work at and switch banks.
But thanks to everyone for the useful info.

At least the survey popup on the ING homepage gives you a chance to tell them exactly what you think of them!0

ING have the customer base that they required through television advertising ,now they can move into secondary products ,it is what banks are about ,draw them in and sell inhouse products, just marketing ,they never really cared about the consumer ,never ever ever ever give a bank loyalty,To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

It's taken this long for Nationwide's e-Saver account to get past ING.
And as for second largest Britannia :rolleyes:0
