I got one of these from Costco for £117 recently and took it back within 24 hours.
It seemed to randomly assign my home address a number and wouldn't let me choose house numbers on a postcode search.
All in all I found it to be not as good as the Garmin Streetpilot i3 that i've been using for 18 months, which is cheaper too.0 -
I've got a couple of questions about the F20:
Does it definately have speed camera locations pre-installed?
Is it right that it doesn't come with a cable or CD for updating camera locations (I've found these for 10 quid if necessary); can this software be downloaded/is the cable standard USB/digital camera type?
Once you have got these, can you use the standard camera databases?
Does in come with European maps? If not, would the cheap cards with ICN320 maps on ebay work?
Can it really display speed limits?
If anyone has one of these, I'd appreciate some help as my father in law has ordered one and I'll be one who will need to sort it out!
Cheers

I will try to answer all of your questions as I have had one of these since November.
Yes - It does come with speed camera locations pre-loaded.
No - It doesn't come with a cable - but you can get these from Navman's online store. When you connect to pc using official product you also get a free camera update download. You will need the official software to load anything onto your Navman - such as your own Points Of Interest.
Yes - USB is standard camera type - but as mentioned above the official software that comes with cable allows you to update info.
Yes - you can use standard safety camera databases - if you do a google search for "POI + Navman" you will get loads of sites where you can download such info. (I could send you a pm with all of these sites - including sites where you can convert TomTom info into Navman info!)!
No - It doesn't come with European maps, and I believe you need an unlock code to install other maps onto this unit.
It doesn't dispaly speed limits, however, you can download some speed camera locations which will flash up the speed limit at which the camera triggers. You can set a warning within the unit which will beep when you go above your preset speed warning!
Finally, I have to say that I think this product is absolutely brilliant! It has made travelling around the country SO easy! You can also buy the Traffic Module for this unit (@£55 on Amazon) which is a lifetime of FREE traffic information. Look at details of product to see all of it's capabilities!

brilliant. Thanks Flange. Do you have the traffic module? I would be very interested to hear how much reception coverage there is, particularly on motorways, and how much information it gives about problems (like is it gridlocked or is traffic moving)? I understand it takes info off classic FM.
I would be very interested in having the speed camera speed trigger displayed, like on my Garmin I3, so I'll try and download them using the search you mention.
Very much appreciated

The Traffice module is also an excellent bit of kit! I haven't had this for long and therefore cannot go into too much detail. it doesn't just use the Classic FM frequency - this is the starting default - as you travel around the country it will pick up local FM stations to get relevant travel info for you. You can set it to automatically re-route you if it knows of major incidents / weather ahead - or you ask it to warn you so you can then choose to carry on or take a detour!
It has detoured me a couple of times around High Wycombe - taking me down country lanes - however this has saved me loads of time as the original route I would have travelled on is a known bottle neck and can take hours to negotiate!
The Module sits in your car mount and is SO easy to use. You may have to master all it can do before you go out on the road as you could find yourself pressing loads of buttons whilst driving to see where the problems are and a map of them etc! It tells you on screen how long ago the problem occurred, what it is etc etc Brilliant!
I am SO impressed with the Navman and the T1 module that I would recommend it to anyone.
Look at Navman store to get product details and to buy ( although you can get them cheaper elsewhere )

Does the traffic module have an extra antenna or is it built in like the f20 uni itself?0

I have read lots of negative reviews on TMC reception which has put me off buying a T1 module, & at the moment I am using tomtom traffic over GPRS. I would buy one of these if I was sure I'd always get a good reception. Have you had any reception difficulties?Next year we'll be millionaires!0
