I'm so tempted by this... seems like they are coming down in price though and could be worth waiting until the January sales...0

The one this i like with the tomtom over the navman is that tomtom have a facility to choose an alternative route if you come across a hold up. With the navman you just take an alternative route and navman will eventually redirect you on that route after numerous attempts to turn you around.
The display of the navman is great and the whole thing is very user friendly. Still not managed to download the speedcameras on it yet as i am not sure what to do!!!!! Any boffins got some advice?
Hope this helps

Still on the Woolies website for £129. I used a £5 code and went via quidco so £119 all told.0

I just got a F20 on 30/12 from Tj Hughes store for £129. ( Ok I could have got it a Woolies online with a Quidco cashback, but didn't want to wait till 12/01 for delivery),
The unit itself is great. Just used it for a New Year trip to friends in Yorkshire & found it very simple to use & follow.
On mine the speed cameras database is already installed (you need to activate it from the POI menu).
Some people on other websites have criticised it for not being very loud! Have they tried turning the volume up, because I had to turn mine down!!
Great bit of kit.... hope Navman allow updates via download in the future.:T0 -
natanddan1 wrote:I have to side with the navman i think. You can also buy the traffic master plug in, this seems to work very well and its a one off cost (£69 incl vat and delivery). The tomtom uses software you purchase but have to pay a monthly subscription. I had a free trial when i bought a tomtom and was not imressed at all.
You can get a similar attachment for the tomtom for a one-off price also (they also do a traffic subscritption which is what you have stated)"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

You will need to buy an extra 1GB SD card (about £10) to install the maps, but then you will have exactly the same functions as the 710 for less0 -
I know this will be a long shot, since no replies to my earlier post, but you never know. ... Does anyone know how this compares with the ViaMichelin model from Empire Direct, which is now £119? I think Quidco gives another 2% discount.

Looking at the reviews, there is alot of problems with reception on TMC (latest tomtom's can use TMC now anyway). People have reported dead signal areas of the country where they drive for miles without any signal & others have reported the only way they can get a signal is to install an external aerial, very messy. Tomtom traffic does cost more, but it uses the same data (so don't expect the TMC plugin to be any better) & is alot more reliable.Next year we'll be millionaires!0
