Didnt realise you need to buy a "kit" to upload the speed cameras at a cost of £20 QUOTE]

Comes with pre-installed safety camera data according to the Navman website. I guess it's only the updates that cost £34.95 per year.

By the way, the connectivity kit in the above link is only £14.99 on the Navman site.

So you have to spend £35 + £15 for the upgrade kit sounds like an expensive add on

If the your Navman is fairly new, ie. with 2006 maps, you will have spped cameras already pre-loaded. Not the most up to date though .. there is a set of cameras installed near us 3 months ago and its not in the Navman.

If you want to update your speed camera database, you MAY buy the kit.

Alternatively, go to https://www.pocketgpsworld.com to download unofficial ones free. You will need to install the connectivity software though (hint... A turbulent, swift-flowing stream. :))... and as for the cable, its a basic usb Type A (for the PC end) and Mini B (for the satnav end).

Arrived today, plugged in this evening. Seems excellent, UK, ROI and speed cameras all loaded. My 9 year old set it up without reading the instructions and worked a treat. Thanks OP, £109 well spent.

Ive ordered it through Jessops re hotdeals uk for £104.95 and collecting it from a local store Wednesday morning. Not sure whether I'll need to buy the connectivity kit or whether my usb kit I have with multi way connectors has an ok connection.

  • is it possible to use a copy of non uk maps or is the only way by using the original maps supplied on the navman sd card? im not suggesting someone would download the maps off the net and install it like that, i mean if a navman sd card was bought and you wanted to make a backup copy for your own use, is this possible or is there no hack for the serial number lock of the sd card and navman?
