Oh good....I obviously kept the right set of dect phones....mine are still going strong:rotfl:

Oh for the days of October 2004....the LCD tvs, the camcorders, the cameras, the quadbikes, the phones, the toys,............I have never been so broke, but so happy! (nor so tired...I remember sitting up day and night watching this thread, with the phone in the other hand and ring and reserve on the go constantly)

softmoding, Read this I think all the xboxes sold in argos are the 1.6 version which means softmoding is Oh well I have cut a usb cable and a controler extender cable, has anyone done a softmod on these?

1.6 are as soft-moddable as any other version.

I've got a 1.6 from argos that I've done, I also have another 1.6 here that is softmodded and a 1.6b that is also done.

You can't flash the tsop on a 1.6xbox, but there has been no need to flash the tsop for years anyway.

They are available for home delivery though (P&P @ £4.95). I do not want to order online because I literally live above an Argos store

They are not available for home delivery....go through the steps on the website and before payment it says.....not available and a box for 'email when in stock' appears. I phoned Argos customer services to query this and they confirmed they have no stocks at all for home delivery

PS: I missed the offer last month by a day. I was moving into a new flat and reserved my xbox on 29/11. Went to collect it on Thu 30/11 and the manager was not flexible to honour the offer, even showed me a print out saying that prices cannot be guaranteed...anyhow, I think it is no to be for me
