So then why does it say SANTANDER on the paying in slip???

Because they are the ones who deal with Asda apparently. Though the post above claims that its Lloyds so im at a loss as to why then.

Do you mind not bolding your posts to me please - that indicates your shouting at me and i dont believe i have said anything that should warrant that. I believe i have been trying to help you but if your getting that angry then i dread to think how you may have acted towards the people at the santander branch.

Remember Asda,Tesco,Sainsburys all handle their banking through a proper bank - they are not banks or credit providers themselves.

The ASDA card is admistered by Santander Consumer Credit Services Limited (formerly GE Capital)

GE Capital used Lloyds TSB for payment collection and this has not changed

i still must say that i have never been able to pay off my credit card in another bank - even if my card is with that bank.

Really ? you have not ever been able to pay off your credit card in another bank even if your credit card is with that bank?

is that really what you mean or do you mean that you have never been able to pay, say a royal bank of scotland card at a branch of barclays for example, or at lloyds, cos if that is what you mean then quite often I have paid different cards statements at different banks and had no problem whatsoever - until now...

actually I have just looked at my ASDA card statement and they have now changed their collection account to Santander 09-01-09

The payment slip states " Please use this payment slip to pay at a Bank or Building Society . Some Banks or Building Societies may not accept payment using this method , in addition there may be a charge applied . We will not apply a fee for using this method"

Are your credit cards with major Banks ? I am unaware of any that refuse

I paid a Tesco Credit card in Lloyds using a Barclaycard balance transfer cheque due to the queue in Barclays (I showed my Lloyds debit card)

Never mind... Ill not bother now..I pay mine off in full at the end of month anyway.

Non - clearing banks and building societies do not like bank giro credits

The clearing banks do not have a problem with them ;)

Why do you find that funny ? Does the Bank in respect of the credit card you hold accept payment by bank giro credit only if the customer holds a current or savings account with the Bank or don't they accept payment over the counter

I doubt that it is a major bank

Ha ha tit for tat eh...I wondered when you'd pop up....because I've put you in your place before...:D

Hmm, you aren't doing yourself any favours if you want to claim you're a reasonable person and that others are the problem.
