DVD films - copy to PC - how to do this?

For XP:
1) Start > Help and support
2) Under Pick a task, select Use tools to view your computer ...
3) Select My Computer information
4) Select Find information about the hardware installed on this computer
5) Wait for the list to build then look for CD-ROM drive
The drive letter (D:) may be different on your PC
6) Mine says:
Manufacturer (Standard Manufacturer CD-ROM Drives)
Model Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A
Driver cdrom.sys 28 February 2006 Supported
7) Please post back what you find
IN step 6 the RW means that the drive will Read and Write DVDs
Finally DVD+RWs are useful, but not all DVD players or Computer optical drives can handle them. DVD-R (write once) are the safest.
Look on the instructions for your DVD player.
