Giffgaff are part of O2 anyway, though they like to keep separate. O2 vouchers will work on GG.0 -
Hello
I believe you are going to make a big mistake if you want to buy Wildfire for 179 and Tesco contract when it is better to get Orange San Francisco for £79 and GiffGaff pay as you go.
I was on Orange pay as you go and later I signed a Tesco contract, it was very good but I was not using my minutes. Orange has better coverage.
Later I was advised on this board to buy OSF and it was a great advice, this phone has better parameters than Wildfire, it is only a little worse than Desire.
I unlocked it and use it on GiffGaff, I cancelled my Tesco contract. For £10 I have 250 mins and unlimited internet, for £15 you get 400 mins and unlimited internet.
I used instructions on internet to root my OSF and get rid of all Orange applications, I love this phone. I have unlimited internet and I connect to internet on the go as much as I want to read news and to listen to music on Spotify.
The only reason not to get OSF is if you want to have a good camera as this one is not great. However I heard that HTC cameras are also not great.
Both Tesco and GiffGaff use o2 network so coverage will be same.0 -

They use the same customer service as O2.
Hi Techhead,
I am surprised. I have found that O2 have misinformed me over a number of queries I have had whereas when I rang Tesco (O2?) the advisors knew exactly what they are on about.
One query was specifically about a phone on Tesco Mobile and the advisor was brilliant..
Cheers

Are Tesco mobile any good? I've never had a problem with Orange... also on Orange I believe I'm on Dolphin so £10 top up = 100MB free internet which I've never really used on my existing handset- would be looking to use new handset for Facebook etc.; but I can't really see anything about Internet on the Tesco site ??
I have a Wildfire on a Tesco sim only when it was £10 a month. I used a couple of Tesco vouchers on double up, £20 Tesco vouchers gave me £40. I understand they are starting a new double up promotion in April which includes mobiles.
I'm more than happy with the Wildfire having looked at the SF.0 -
Tesco's upgrades for it's pay monthly users are shockingly bad.0

Tesco don't have call divert or call waiting, which can be really annoying, e.g. if going abroad you really just have to switch off your voicemail (dial 2915), with no prospect of using a service such as Hullomail. (Hullomail allows you to retrieve messages over the internet, e.g. from an internet cafe or the place you are staying.)
Or, consider what happens if you lose your phone - you can't just arrange a divert over a web interface to a new temporary number.
These compromises seem easy to accept until you actually suffer the inconvenience.0 -
I have just bought a Wildfire for my daughter, in phones 4 u, bought O2 one (all the wildfires are unlocked in phones 4 u) didnt have to pay the £10 upgraded as I had a friend who had a pay as you go phone and the wildfire was linked to it. then put a Tesco mobile sim into it and hey presto it worked cost...£129.950
