Hi.
usually this takes 10 mins and i get an email straight away? 3 hours in, no email, and "in process" on the account.
and my flights have just gone up by £36 quid because of the wait (had a friend check to make sure there wasnt an issue with cookies). what a pain in my backside!
anyone else had this issue. no phone number to call either.

I've never had a problem, but then I've never topped mine up at the weekend, only on a weekday. I wonder if this is important???0 -
In the end, it took ALL night.. i loaded it up on a Sat night at 10pm and it wasnt cleared till Sunday 10am.
I emailed and they said something about it having to be cleared (it wasnt even that much!) and that i would have better luck booking during office hours.
Well, thats no good to me.... as a service, they should be available to do it 24 hours a day.
I had to pay an extra £35 on my flights because of the delay with them.0 -
I use FairFx all the time.
In the past, my currency loads would always show up in my account within a few minutes. On very rare occasions, it sometimes took a half hour or so.
However, the last few times it has taken HOURS! I'm using the same debit card and still doing the top-up during the day.
Really bad service, I'm very disappointed in FairFx lately.0 -

Just checked mine and it's the same. Perhaps wait until tomorrow.0 -
Fairfx have really gone down hill. I won't use them anymore after they hid the fact that their fairpay service uses intermediary banks in the US costing me an additional $20 on each transfer they won't accept responsibility for anything. I had the same delays on my fairfx card and was told there's not a set time limit for the re-load to be done.

Haven't had any problems with FairFx. Perhaps it's because I don't wait until the last minute before topping up in order to purchase a flight.
You wrote earlier that their CS was "very helpful" in the case that you have mentioned though now you write that "they won't accept responsibility for anything".
Can your 'bank' in the USA receive direct International payments or do they have to use a correspondent bank?
Have you found out why Barclays go via BoA and if so, why FairFx use Barclays?0 -
I don't wait till the last min either but have noticed that what used to take a couple of hours has recently, on occasion, taken a couple of days.
CS were being helpful but are now just quoting from their website without actually reading it. The say that there may be fees from the receiving bank but the fees I've been questioning are not from the receiving bank but from an intermediary bank in the US.
Fairfx use Barclays from the UK the pass the money to some US bank who take $20 then they pass the money to Bank of America (my bank ie the receiving bank) and they charge me the fees I expected to pay. Barclays won't tell Fairfx who they send the money via and Bank of America can't see each 'stop off' only the originating bank so I'm $60 out of pocket, they won't listen/read what I and BoA keep telling them and they keep telling me they don't know so it must be a BoA fee when I can clearly see the BoA fee & they would be able to see if there was another!

I have been trying top-up my FairFx card using my bank debit card, but each time I get an error message. According to the FairFx CS, the problem is that the address on file for my debit card does not match the one FairFx has. I have gone to the trouble of checking both, but they are identical. (The bank adds United Kingdom before the postcode, but claims that the system would not recognise that as a difference, and the FairFx rep did not react to it when I mentioned it.)
I have not changed my address in many years. FairFx says that it is the Address Verification System for my bank's card that is saying the addresses don't match, but that doesn't mean FairFx's system is providing the right info. I regularly use the bank debit card, so I my guess is that it is more likely that the problem is at FairFx's end, but neither the bank nor FairFx is willing to admit the possibility of error.
What to do? Just give up on FairFx?0 -

I guess the intermediary is the corresponding bank mentioned in their T&Cs. Annoying I can imagine.0
