Harassment- on contract mobile phone?

Why on earth would the police do anything because you reported unauthorized calls ?????I did contact my network provider, and they put a note on the system to say that i've reported unauthorized calls- dunno if the police will do anything...
No it would be kept secret from you at the timeDoes anyone know how i could FIND OUT whether the police have requested my phone records?.
Depends on how serious the charge was ...threats to someones life for example would warrant accessAnd if the 'person who's been harassed' thinks its me, and has told the police this, is it enough 'evidence' for them to access the call records or arrest me.
Theres three options either come clean and explain if they ask you, exercise your right to remain silent or lie about it.The family member is quite young- although what she did was very very bad, i can't get her into trouble... so what else should i do?
All that does is stop the victim knowing who called, the call is still registered on your call log and bill etc in the same way it will be if a landine has been usedOh and the family member withheld the calls so the number was on private...
Is that a factHa, you don't know NOTHING!
It's not just about the money0 -

That won't withhold it from the network (obviously, they have to connect it). The number to and from with be clearly visible on the network logs as well as where the phone was when the call was made and how long each call was.
Everything about a call is logged by the network.0 -
So she's so young she doesn't know any better? But at the same time she knows how to and to withhold her number? That suggest she knows what she's doing is wrong? If you can't get her in trouble then maybe her parents will? If she's been withholding your number then why does the person receiving the calls think it's you?The family member is quite young- although what she did was very very bad, i can't get her into trouble... so what else should i do?
Unless these calls involve a minor, threats or continue I think the police are unlikely to take further action, they've probably advised the person to contact their network operator who will probably advise them to change their number.
Even if you cancel your contract, change your mobile number or burn your phone there's still going to be records of those calls available to the police for a reasonable period of time (possibly years, depending on your operator), there's no way around that.0 -

Because the OP said on the other thread .....No i meant that harassing calls were made using my mobile phone- a family member was making calls to my tutor about 10 times. he thinks its me, and has reported it to the police, was just wondering what would happen because the phones obviously mine.
It's not just about the money0 -
Because the OP said on the other thread .....
Yeah, I seen that in the other thread, but if the calls were withheld then there's got to be a reason that her tutor would assume that she's responsible for the harassing calls. So I don't think it's just a case of a young family member picking up somebody mobile and randomly prank phone calling somebody.0 -
Yeah exactly ...which is why I get the impression tracing the phone is the least of the OP's problems.Wintermute wrote: »Yeah, I seen that in the other thread, but if the calls were withheld then there's got to be a reason that her tutor would assume that she's responsible for the harassing calls. The tutor not only thinks it's the OP but can also prove it came from the phone ...it's like a script from Eastenders :rotfl:It's not just about the money0 -
Yeah, I certainly think this one is more of a people issue rather than a mobile phone issue :rotfl:0

Well, they weren't silent calls, just the family member making inappropriate suggestions about me and him in a 'funny voice'. The tutor thinks its me making the phone calls, and i'm not sure what the police are going to do?.0
