Orange contract buyout?

rose00 Posts: 14 Forumite
Ok, so i'm tied into a 24 month contract with Orange. I pay £30 a month but the deal is great. I'm currently on month 14. I've been looking around online- is it possible to do a transfer of some sort onto a different contract without having to pay orange the early buyout fee?

I was told Carphone warehouse do this but i've contacted them and they say they don't.

Any suggestions?

Thanks x

It is possible. They will be happy to transfer you to a more expensive contract with them.

On a serious note - forget about this.

No I meant with a different mobile company. Someone to pay for the 'orange buyout'?.

You pay £30 a month, the deal is great and yet you want to change?

    Why?

Why would they pay £300? Do you think they can make a bigger profit by selling you to another provider?

And why do you want to do this in the first place?

Some issues with harassing phone calls... thinking that if i closed my account, the call records would be removed...see my other post, it'll be less confusing. thanks :)

And some people have done this in the pass, a third party pays the buyout fee and transfers you to a different contract, apparently.

Call records will be kept on file for years after the account is closed - I used to work for a large mobile operator in Customer Services and could access closed accounts if necessary.

Ring 150, tell them your getting harrassing calls, theyll change your number for free (with a crime reference number) or for a tenner if you dont want to report it. simple.

And the contract owner will be responsible if just say someone reported it to the police?.

    Deleted already? Very intriguing...

If they Orange for some reason refuse to change the number, just get a free sim-card from another provider and port the number to Orange.
