This is the most valid point. While I think it is commendable that you are prepared to move across country and give up a secure tenancy and hubby's job to support family, I do worry that you are causing great upheaval and possible hardship to your own family in order to do so.
Also, until the soon-to-be-born actually appears you won't know the extent of the disabilities, the amount of support that will be provided by the NHS and SS and the amount of help your brother's family will actually want or need.
Cornwall is a poor rural area, with services stretched and having to cover huge distances.
It would be better to move to the area where the services/support are best, rather than one party arbitrarily picking to relocate.0 -
unfortunately my nephew who is 2 also requires alot of help he has constant visits to great ormand street so on top of this they are going to need support with the new baby having difficulties the baby has dandy walker syndrome , a different health problem from her older brother , this syndrome requires constant hospital visits and she will have to have a shunt put in her brain to drain excess fluid which we've been told brings it's own set of problems , they were pleased to find out the new baby was a girl as my nephews condition is more prevalent in boys , it's like lightning striking twice , their oldest daughter was also in hospital last year after a dog attack and she has anxiety issues because of this so they certainly need help , I only started this thread to ask about landlord references.
I really don't want to live here anymore either as I was a victim of an armed robbery at work and the perpetrator lives 200 yards from me and has just been released from prison , there are a million reasons I could give as to why we need to be there and why we want to move.
it's not about commendable actions it's about quality of life surely there are thousands of families across the country living in private accommodation , if I'm not happy here and my brother needs my help surely moving is the best option , my husband and I are not workshy and can make this work , we will pay off the council and pay 6 months in advance as lieuway for finding jobs.MSE- The Glitchhikers guide to the galaxy

So your solution is to move as far away from hospitals as possible. Where's the quality of life there? Wouldn't it be better for both your families to consider moving in together closer to good hospital services?robstersgirl wrote: »unfortunately my nephew who is 2 also requires alot of help he has constant visits to great ormand street so on top of this they are going to need support with the new baby having difficulties the baby has dandy walker syndrome , a different health problem from her older brother , this syndrome requires constant hospital visits and she will have to have a shunt put in her brain to drain excess fluid which we've been told brings it's own set of problems , they were pleased to find out the new baby was a girl as my nephews condition is more prevalent in boys , it's like lightning striking twice , their oldest daughter was also in hospital last year after a dog attack and she has anxiety issues because of this so they certainly need help , I only started this thread to ask about landlord references.

they would struggle to move to another property that would accept them on dss they have a house , because of there sons problems , I'm afraid that although moving would benefit them long term , right now they are not in a position to do so , particularly financially.
also as you can imagine they have enough stress to deal with on a daily basis.MSE- The Glitchhikers guide to the galaxy

I think you are a very good sister in wishing to help out your brother, but you a) have 4 children yourself, b) are going to find job in order to be able to afford private tenancy. When will you be helping your brother?
I understand that you also want to move for your own reasons though.0
