I'm anothers plus for the wickes one. I had it last year and this years seems just as good. The bags seem a bit stronger this year too. Last year half a bag went over the lawn as the bag split while carrying it.

    Asda have got 3 x 70l = 210l multi purpose for £10 which is a bit cheaper.

I use growbags like that as well but you do need to feed a bit sooner
    Hi,
I was really, really disappointed with the quality of Asda compost last year. It was full of bits of straw and the like. Wate of money. Sally

I used Asda last year, because the previous years [2009] Lidl one was full of bits of wood, plastic and the like, the 2010 Asda was as bad, and my toms just did not thrive in it, which may have been down to weather of course

So Wickes it is for me this year

I was another person disappointed with Asda's version last year after previously having decent results from it. Have a B&Q locally and got most of mine from there for last year.

Also thinking about investigating prices of the soil conditoner that the local council turn the garden waste that's sent away in the brown bins into. Has anyone had good results with that?

I tend to buy those very large compressed bags (rectangle in shape) B&Q multi purpose bags. I got some small bags last month (posted on here) from B&Q for £1 each

I mix the compost with my own and add sharp sand, blood & bonemeal and sometimes wood ash (potash) in a large plastic container. Use it for re-potting etc

Our Focus has 4 50l bags of organic, peat free, recycled compost at the moment which seems a prett god deal for organic, cant remember the brand and the bags are at the bottom of the garden so can't check at the moment but looked good stuff when I put my potatoes out into potoato bags earlier.
