Paying 'keep' HELP!!!

My mum (a single parent) was made redundant from a good job in November and now, three months on she said that she can no longer afford to subsidise me and my brother and we must pay our proper share of all the bills/mortgage/council tax. (I'm 23 he is 21)
She says that with part of the mortgage included all utility bills are £1200 month -so expects me to pay £100 a week. (£1200 divided by three)
I've refused to pay as its way too much. I've discussed this with my friends and all of them say she is trying to scam me and that I could get a place of my own for less than that.
She says if I wont pay - I have to move out as she will put a lodger in my room.
Why should I pay this much? Its so unfair. I told her that I wasnt going to pay. She may not care about my future but I do! I'm saving up for my future
Also I absolutely object to paying toward HER mortgage!! Why should she profit out of me??
I told her I didnt believe that the bills were so high and demanded she give me copies. She said it was degrading to have to send me the bills and make a budget for my inspection but I think its because she is scamming me. She did send me it though.
I am refusing to pay any more than £50 a week. My brother is, looking for a job and earns £65 a week in his part time job, and my Mum is not entitled to benefits as she was paid redundancy.
So her current income is £200 a month plus £120 from my brother and she should be getting more from him not me.
Can you please give your opinion so I can show this to her to demonstrate how unfair she is being. I'm only 23 and trying to save up to move out but she wants me to go now as he cant afford to keep me. This makes me so angry as I'm hardly ever here
You horrible brat! I'd have you out the door quicker than you could say "deposit and first month's rent please".0 -

you earn more than my oh who contributes 45% of his income to costs of lving. Its a hard world and right now ur ma needs support. My ds has to pay 20% of whatever he earns to housekeeping - even if he only has work 1 day in any particular week. I pay the most as I earn the most & he is my son. If I lost my job he & my oh would need to meet the outgoings completely until I got back on my feet. That is the reality of the world. Go over to the DFW board there are people there who may only have £10 a week after outgoings. £800 disposible income after rent & board is a really fortunate position to be in - easily can afford social life, mobile, clothes & savings from that!
i don't mean to be hard but you really do need to reflect on how you are treating ur ma who is probably feeling incredibly low right nowDF as at 30/12/16

For me reading these posts it's not about the money it's about the attitude, If my Mum was struggling to pay the bills and asked to pay more I wouldn't hesitate. £400 is not a lot to ask. Especially if you're taking home £1200 a month0

I paid my mum £460 a month when both her and my dad worked full time when I lived with them, it only seemed fair given I was living in their house, costing them money in extra bills but it gave me the oppertunity to save up for my own house as even paying £460 from my £1450 salary meant I saved a LOT more than I ever did when I rented my own place.
I'd be devastated if my child was this callous and immature, a more selfish attitude I have never seen.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well spotted, Shazaaym.
That makes me think that it's not really a troll anymore, it's someone who's created an AE to ask a question that they thought might get them flamed - and posted something under the AE instead of her real username.
And the reason 'sweetheart' deleted the post:
because it was an old thread - but her post was on 3/11 at 5:04 pm and the person before her posted at 3:06pm on the same day so not an old thread at all.
And whatever was she doing on the Weddings and Anniversary board anyway?
Could it be that she's planning to marry someone?
Could somebody actually love such a selfish little madam?0 -

I don't actually think it's true that Proc revived this thread.
There was a post by the OP last week which seems to have disappeared - I quoted it in one of my replies:Originally Posted by Sweetheart

But I dont speak to her anymore, just got straight to my room as I cant stand her. She hasnt even got a job yet, lazy fat cow.0 -
Funny ....my post in response has disappeared too ....would she have objected to the fact that I called her a lazy little troll c*w, do you think????0
