The phrase that irritates me is " Let's have a little look"; even used by newsreaders and the like. Why can't we simply have a look?0

A phrase that I find offensive and childish is 'War on terror' - NO - it's 'terrorism'; why dumb it down?
On a lighter note, why is it suddenly 'bargin' not 'bargain'?
...and, no, I'm not 'lovin' it'!:hello:0 -

People who mispronounce the word, mispronunciation.
When people say: "We cannot tell you because of the Data Protection Act" as an excuse to avoid answering any questions.
When John Major avoided answering questions during Prime Miniter's question time by saying: "I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago".
When someone says 'hello love' but she is not some dolly bird from Liverpool!

and what about when televison presenters pronounce terrorism as "terrism" and deteriorate as "deteriate"0 -
I hate the use of lol. It's worse in lower case when it's not an abbreviation. There is no such word as "lol", the abbreviation means Laugh Out Loud - it's not a !!!!ing word!
What does irritate me is when it is used where the preceding sentence just isn't funny! Not at all laugh out loud. It kind of devalues the use of LOL and puts it in the same league as "right".
I thought it meant 'lots of love'.
Thought it was odd.0
