"sexualize" or "sexualisation" are used a lot. These are made up words surely!!!!

Sexualize is in Chambers Dictionary (1998 edition) but not sexualisation.

What really irritates me is when I go into a shop and an assistant comes over and says" You alright there?" My answer is always "Fine thanks, how are you?"

Whatever happened to the good old ("May I help you sir?")]

This happened to me when I was waiting in a queue in M & S. One of the assistants at the tills dealt with his previous customer and then called to me "You all right there?" He was quite surprised when I pointed out (nicely) that he was inviting a sarcastic comment such as "Yeah, i just love standing here in the queue." As I left I heard him call his next customer over with "Would you like to come over?";)

I also find it annoying when prices are read as solo numbers rather than a sum... 'A new sofa for just two nine nine...' No. No you illiterate scumbag, the sofa costs two hundred and ninety nine pounds.

This annoys me too - I think it might be because TV advertising is so expensive that the company wants the person doing the voiceover to use as few seconds as possible. That's my theory anyway :)

When did certificate become a verb? As in 'the gas installation was certificated? We were always taught to use certify or certified, or is that something different? You begin to doubt yourself don't you? I'm afraid that I don't check dictionaries for new words these days, don't think that I ever did actually.

People who use too many periods on an ellipsis... ;)

Yes i had to look that one up! Apparently i put too many dots, there are only supposed to be 3.You learn something new every day!

However,i think the more dots, the more dramatic the "unfinished thought" ( as per wikipedia's explanation)
