  • Hi, Newbi here regsitered this evening because i'm dealing with the firm Refresh My Credit, Looking at other posts seem's i may have fallen into there trap (Hopfully not), Money will do my Credit Card balance the world of good

I also was contacted by them and was amazed the forms dropped on the doormat already filled in and i just had to sign on 3 pages, I was told the full amount i had payed for the PPI was due to me and they would take the % out of that ammount on the last 4 years as their payment, I aslo took mine out with Mortgage Advice Services and RMC asked for any paperwork i could supply to prove i had done, I sent them the original paperwork from the booklet MAS supplied me with (Pages 1 and 8 Never to be seen again i suppose)

I've only searched around tonight because for the last 2 days all i keep getting is a answering machine that tells me to leave my name and number and somone will call back, I've done this 4 times so far

I hope i've not been scammed and neever see anything of my £4,300

If i have any joy i'll throw a post up

Just had a phonecall from RMC to say i've been awarded £2,800

I'm not happy and refused this because when they first started they told me 95% sure i'd get the full amount and the girl who started the claim (Who no longer works for them) told me they take their cut fom the % of the £4,300

Just been told they are taking a 25% plus vat and it never pays the full 100%, I'm not happy and refused payment because i want it sorting

She said she has heard this before, Must be a ploy to drag you in

What's the bet's they don't have the phone conversation recorded when i first started
  • Hi, i recieved a letter of RMC yesterday and have found some very usefull information from here. I have contaced FSCS this morning and i am awaiting an application from.
The most strange thing is that i have also recieved a call from Mortgage Advice Services aswell offering there services , when i questioned the woman on the phone she put me on hold and then a gent came on . i informed him of what i was doing(ie contacting fcsa) and i also asked if the company had gone into liquidation an now trading as keater limited, surprise surprise the gent could not answer me that an asked if he could get someone to call me back to see if they could try and sort out my mis sold policy. we will see if they call me back.
  • An update on my PPI claim as described above:
A week ago I received a letter from the FSCS saying my claim had been successful and a cheque had been sent to my representatives (RMC) for 90% of the claim. I phoned RMC the following day to check whether they had received the payment from FSCS and was told thta they get the cheque a couple of days later and they would get in touch with me as soon as they had. It's now been a week later ans still no word from RMC and what concerns me a little is that I had altered and initialled the claim form to request that the cheque would be paid to me and I would then pay RMC their fees etc. The cheque has been made to RMC against my wishes and for that to happen either the FSCS ignored my request or RMC had altered it so that they receive the payment. Has this happened to anyone else and should I be worried?

Also, on a slightly different note, I have just received a call from Mortgage Advice Services based in Derby offering help to obtain a remortgage and I too asked them whether they have been trading under Keator Limited ( as Brooker80 above also asked) and although they are based in Derby they denied they had anything to do with Mortgage Advice Services. It all seems strange as my PPI claim was against Mortgage Advice Services (or Keator Ltd).

I believe that it is against FSA rules to cold call on mortgages.

  • glad i've seen this my husband recieved a letter from rmc to sign to allow them to claim for us thankfully he asked me to look into it first to see if it was ligit. after reading this i will shred it and we will do our own claim, as dont want to get stung with charges and poss non payment to us.
  • I have recently completed my second PPI claim through refresh my credit. They have been nothing short of amazing with me and my wife...and to clerify they charge 25% fee on final compensation, and VAT is charged on the 25% fee..not on your compensation like some of you have been saying here!! i do find it shocking that some of you have such horrendous things to say, as iv reccomended them to several friends. i have called several times for updates and have spoken to a man and a woman on different occasions. i find that the man tends to be very vague in helping me, but the woman (sarina i believe her name is) has gone out of her way to get clear responses for me. if anything id request to speak to her when calling. i dont believe they are fraudulent one bit, i think some of you may be exagerating...they have paid out both times to us!!!!!

What a glowing review from someone that has just signed up to contribute to this thread. It is amazing what they get their agents to say to make them look better.

    Your poor friends.

Got to love self promoting spam.

So it is wrong for people to sign up to give good news but it is absolutely fine for newbies to give bad reports of the company.

1st time poster again. So yes, it probably is the case you work for them. You cannot imagine any normal person finding this thread then going through the site registration to only post what you have said.
