PPI and Refresh My Credit (RMC)

Hi
Just a a question before I send my application form off to the FSCS. Keater Limited who took over mortgage advice have apparently gone into liquidation, will the FSCS just pay out providing my ppi and mortgage provider give them the figures they need as i presume there is no one to claim from at keater? Not sure how it works?
Thanks0 -
This is one of the simplest complaints you can do. You dont need a claims company to do it. Single premium MPPI is wrong 99% of the time. So, all you have to so is complain to the broker that they should not have set up single premium MPPI as you were charged interest on it which you would not have been had you paid monthly and that the cover was only for a limited number of years and not the full term/open ended.
Even if they reject it (which is unlikely) the FOS will overturn it.
Hi
I've just posted something on this thread can you have a look for me please
Thanks

Hi and thanks to all who replied to my post over 3 months ago. So far I haven't heard a thing from RMC and have tried repeatedly today to talk to them but an answering machine just says they are very busy. I left a message but still no call back. What I was wondering now is whether I can bypass RMC and find out what is happening to the claim? Who do they submit the claim to? And, could I still make the claim myself, or is it too late, seeing as RMC have more than likely already submitted it? At least if I could get in touch with who makes the decision to pay out or not, I'd know whether it's still going through the process or whether RMC have what is rightfully mine.
Thanks

Hi, only just found this thread, whilst checking up on RMC so this information may now be superfluous. However I have used RMC for a PPI claim which was started in late Jan 2011 and this week I have received a favourable decision letter from FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme - tel 0800678 1100). I too had been trying to ring RMC with no success until this week when they did actually ring me back, probably something to do with the fact that the FSCS had sent me their cheque by mistake!0

Thanks for the info. Have you actually received the money then? I altered the form to say that I wanted the cheque sending to me and I would then pay RMC what was due for their services.0

An hour after replying to Taramosh's post I received a letter from RMC requesting that they require a disbursement statement from my solicitors for when the loan was originally funded. They have sent me a Letter Of Authority to sign authorising the solicitor to send a copy of that statement to RMC. They say they are in the final stages of the claim, but shouldn't this have been done earlier on in the claim, not 4 or 5 months on, and is this normal practice?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Only sent the cheque back 2 days ago requesting that it was re-issued in my name & I will then forward on their fee. I would ring the FSCS & speak to their customer services (option 3 I think) they were quite helpful when I spoke to them. Will keep you informed0

Thanks To All of You out there ! I was cold call caught out by RMC too in Jan 2011. I have just received my, positive decision letter from FSCS on Saturday and have not been able to contact RMC, I also tried a couple of Months ago too trying to find out what was happening, it took me two weeks and then they didn't seem to interested. I Just took one look at this thread, earlier today and got straight onto the FSCS, the cheque had been sent out but they were able to cancel it and I have written to them requesting a new cheque in my name be sent to me and I'll have to pay RMC out of that but at least I'll Get Something. Does anyone know, by the way, as the FSCS only pay 80% of an award, does RMC charge their 25% plus VAT on the full award or on the 80% that the punter gets ? and what is the current VAT rate for this sort of thing ?
Thanks Again All. Special Thanks To TARAMOSH !0 -
The claims co will want their % of the whole ppi amount and not just what you got back.Tyne_Rider_Plus wrote: »Thanks To All of You out there ! I was cold call caught out by RMC too in Jan 2011. I have today received my cheque :T :rotfl::jfrom RMC!!!
The FSCS would not reissue the cheque in my name as I had signed the form with the "Pay RMC box ticked". Anyway RMC have kept 25% of the 90% award (my letter from FSCS says that they can only pay 90% of the total loss) plus VAT at 20% hope that makes sense.
Claim forms for Black Horse and RBS sent off yesterday, quite getting into this!!
PS I rang RMC at 09.30 Monday morning and someone answered the phone!0
