Well OP. You asked for opinions and you certainly got them.
Others on here ask questions, and then get into a huff when they don't like the answers.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • sorry, but it looks like it should be hanging in an Indian Restaurant. the one you have is nice. Ever thought of jazzing it up a bit. maybe shabby chic it with some farrow and ball paint and putting rubbons on it.

I know shabby isn't to everyone's tastes, but your current hall table and mirror are crying out for a good ol' shab. this is an example of what a bit of paint and rub ons could do for your mirror. costs would be minimal.

Hi shell. IMO it is a little tacky and very expensive.

I agree with MrsCrafty, it all depends on the size and brightness of the hallway.

For something a little different, but not too ott, how about this:-

It would tie in with the existing furniture (if you're keeping it).
Take a look at e-bay anyway - remember to check returns policy and perhaps have a look at local places to collect from so you can inspect first. Personally, I'd only buy furnishings/furniture online if I could take a look at it first, in person, or if it was completely bargain basement price! HTH
That is really nice., quite modern and Something that i would buy.
Op, sorry, that one you picked is really rubbish looking, compared to this one.

This is the one I have in my hall, we have a long hall as you walk through the front door it is directly opposite.

    you're right to ask....

it's not that the mirror isn't nice, it's just too different from the hall table you already have... that mirror belongs somewhere with lots of clutter, not in a nice tidy hallway;)

How about doing something with what is reflected in the plain mirror - hanging a print at the right angle so it will reflect in the mirror as you walk in the door would give the present mirror a new take? It depends on what's in the hallway already though.

The last local auction sale I went to had a load of big vintage and antique mirrors - and most went very cheaply apart from one 5 foot tall pier mirror which still sold for 'only' £85 or so.

I'd never buy a new mirror personally, they're all too 'fashionable' and hence look out of date very quickly.

ours is similar to this one. i suppose its a bit old fashioned for some. but we like it.
    Get some gorm.
  • oooooo, Ormus, that is gorgeous. I'm imagining the rest of your house now. that is exactly the one I would have if I had the right house and finances. (although I would probably shabby chic it - I know some people would think that would be a terrible thing to do it, lol).
