Can I have opinions on mirror for hallway

I *think* I really like this, but cant see before I buy, and its sometimes very difficult to tell from a picture. All local suppliers have to order it in. It will cost me about £30 extra to return it.

(can get at much better price than link, but still too expensive to just jump on in and buy it!)

Do you think it looks tacky looking, or looks worth the money?

I think it would look good in both a modern & older house as long as the hall was a light area. If it's a dark hall I would go for something with more mirror and a little more streamlined.

Its a new house, but quite classically decorated, timeless I would say. Nothing too modern that is going to date really quite, but nothing antique etc. I would be putting it on the wall just inside the front door, so is going to be in a light area.

Am just afraid its going to look really tacky looking, and then I am out about £60 delivery if I dont want it!

    Oh no Shell,

Go to a proper shop and browse.

I dont think its tacky, but its bordering on it, especially at that price.

    Sorry
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Hope you don't mind, but it wouldn't be my choice. I don't think it fits with your 'timeless' design. Is it that you want something totally unique? If not John Lewis and M&S have lovely mirrors and can be returned. I don't know what your hall is like, but would a rectangular or square fit the space better? Is it above furiture or alone? I do like round mirrors, but it in the right location, only wondering whether you've throught through all the options with such high delivery and return costs!

Thanks, have been looking around but havent seen anything I fancy, and I work full time so its hard to get time to get away anywhere to look.

Yeah, I just want something a bit different. It is to go above an oak console table. I have a rectangular oak framed mirror above it at the minute. Its nice, but I fancy a change, and something with a bit of "wow" factor.

Its the delivery and return costs that are the main issue.

we;ve been looking for a hall mirror for about a year now so i can sympathise. We don't want the run of the mill boring either - but equally don't want to spend anywhere near the price of the one you're looking at. have you got a TK Maxx near you as they have a good range of individual mirrors - but then again I've been going in our local one every couple of weeks and still not found the one. we have a QLM near us and they've just reduced a load of theirs but they're quite a statement type mirror - good luck in your hunt

It is very expensive for purely delivery and returns (seems like money for nothing when it could go towards the actual purchase). This is one of my favourite places for accessories and furniture and also notcied it's mentioned numerous times in ideal home mag re dining furniture etc. Just looked at the mirror page, ok may not be your thing, but the quality is normally great (have few smaller house accessories) and a little different http://www.lombok.co.uk/find.asp?name=mirror I love the circular ones.

Good look on your mirror quest!
