  • do you think I should have beans or peas for tea?
As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.

Every one to their own opinion, but that is one ugly and tacky mirror, and at that price fit only for someone with more money than good taste.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Hi shell. IMO it is a little tacky and very expensive.

If it's a dark hall I would go for something with more mirror and a little more streamlined.

I agree with MrsCrafty, it all depends on the size and brightness of the hallway.

For something a little different, but not too ott, how about this:-

It would tie in with the existing furniture (if you're keeping it).
Take a look at e-bay anyway - remember to check returns policy and perhaps have a look at local places to collect from so you can inspect first. Personally, I'd only buy furnishings/furniture online if I could take a look at it first, in person, or if it was completely bargain basement price! HTH
  • Thanks for your opinions (as blunt as some of them are lol!)

General consensus is no! Going to hold off and see what i see about. And with regard the price, I can get it for £100 which seems pretty normal for a mirror of that size.

Definitely wouldn't buy something with that kind of mirror-ball mosaic effect without seeing it first. Those little tiles need to be on perfectly to look good, if they're uneven at all, they'll look crappy. You'd also want to be sure they're solid so they won't start to come off and completely ruin it.

Also remember that in a hall, you'll be much closer to anything on the wall than you would be in a normal room, and you'll also tend to see if from the side, rather than getting the impact of the full on frontal impression. Also I think the size would be quite intimidating in a hall. I don't think anything large and circular is ideal in a hall either - it's kind of at odds with the lines of where you are, if you see what I mean.

Personally, I think this is more suited to being a feature in a sitting room or something like that.

Much prefer the one you have now, a timeless, classic piece which will always look good and suit a variety of rooms. Re the one you're thinking of, most people either love or hate mosaic. Personally I hate it, it's gimmicky, would posssibly discolour and/or lose tiles over time, and is one of those things you could tire of very quickly. A very expensive mistake, imho.
However other peoples opinions aren't important. If you like it and think it's worth the money, go ahead, and blow what others think.

    hiya,

    now that i do like!!
this site isnt going to save me much money reading threads like this lol!

that one is certainly a little different without been over the top, just my cup of tea,

to the op, the mirror you have posted is nice but would have to be in a certain setting, like a bedroom wall with dark feature wallpaper then have that mirror on to give it a wow effect, if you know what i mean,

the table and mirror you already have could perhaps be stained to give it a change,
