mince beef burger night
Something simple to sooth the soul of a harried meal planner pork Joint? Or chops or what? You can NEVER go wrong with pork chops with apple and lamb what about a tagine with the lamb, and steaming cous cous
chicken portions on the bone lots of chicken breast chicken with orange sauce (onion, zest and juice of poarne and some plain yogurt just before your serve) or chicken with lemon zest and thyme and garlic rubbed into it. I hear chocclares chinese chicken is pretty d**n good!
,and some turkey breast.can't help with that...Sausages I hate sausage casserole, but its drizzle here and sausages and onion gravy and mash would be just the thing , cod steaks my no brain white fish meal: throw the white fish in an oven dish with some onion cut ito rings, some black olives, some small tomatos and new potatoes. Cook till potatos are doneand some breaded fish .
fridge has lots of milk , cheese butter eggs, all kinds of veg a fruit bowl full of apples, oranges, bananas, pears
Store cupboard chocker with loads of jars of herbs and spices flour you name it and I could poss have it.
So am setting the challenge of deciding what we eat this week for main meals. No allergies , no real dislikes apart from ds4 not liking anything too spicy .Please help:D
You have a lot of food, we could probably sort you ut for a month you know. I wonder if you're a bit overwhelmed with the choice.

I think Its really just bordem of the same kinds of things week in week out.The pork we have is mince, and about 12 pork chops and a big piece of pork to be roasted.I as you say have plenty of food in the freezer, fridge and cupboards , infact I sorted out the pantry recently and have got 8 packets of unopened long spaghetti, 61/2 bags of macaroni, 7 unopened boxes of lasagne sheets and numerous bags of pasta shapes. All still in date:eek:Guess my inventries wasn't as precise as I thought;):o.Am going to go through the last few months worth of weekly menus on here and the recipes on the grocery thread and pick out 31 that I like the sound of and put them in a bowl and pick out 7 a week to cook. That way we could end up trying 7 new things each week:eek:.and nothing will get repeated in the month.S * D it if it works out that we live on chicken done 7 ways in a week;).Wish me luckPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0

Wishing you luck! I know it can get tedious. I sat down with the family (hubby and 2 children aged 6 and 5) and we went through a long list of all the meals we liked and that we were prepared (the kids - as hubby and I will have almost anything
) to eat. That gave me about 25 different meals, and there are extras like potato salad, beans on toast, eggs many different ways etc which I can pick from. Most of the meals can be made from what I have in the cupboards most of the time, so that's fairly easy, and every now and then we have something completely different.
Something for sausages - make mini toads in the hole - I use my muffin tin, my batter recipe makes enough for each hole, and I normally buy chipolatas from the butcher in twelves, so this makes enough for 1 each for the kids and 2 each for me and the OH, twice. Gravy, spuds of some kinds and lots of veggies and we're all happy. Do hope that the planning ennui fades soon .....!:jMoney saving eco friendly Fertility reflexology specialist :j0 -

What sort of stuff have you been eating recently.. I admit we have got so in to the idea of cook from scratch, good healthy food that we got a bit tired of conjuring something from the stocks. In my OMG what if I work till 6pm xmas eve! panic buy at Iceland (basic idea .. get every possible veg (& other) in frozen form in case it has sold out!) I also got a pack of fish fingers. I usually scorn 'something in bread crumbs with chips' type menu as someone I was close to for a while served it every dinner to her child, but good old simple ' fish fingers, beans & mash' was a delight!
Maybe you need to recreate a meal you havent had for years ... just to wake the taste buds again lolI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
