Did pretty well at keeping to the plan this week except there were no kidneys when I shopped so that was replaced with liver and onion from the freezer.

    This week's plan:
Sat: pork curry (using leftovers from a roast), white rice

Sun: poached salmon, creamed potato, peas, broccoli

Mon: hummous, olives, taramasalata, pitta, salad

Tue: spicy turkey pilau, rice, yogurt

Wed: sausages in chilli sauce, baked potato, beetroot, cabbage

Thu: baked fish, mash, braised celery, mushrooms

Fri: grilled steak, baked pot, tomatoes, mushrooms

I have to confess that my last mealplan got abandoned by the second half of the week. :o This week's includes a lot of my favourite meals in the hope that this will encourage me to stick to my plan - if I don't I might abandon meal planning for a bit as it seems a waste of effort if I don't follow the plan after making it. :o:(

Friday - chorizo, spring greens and ricotta calzone
Saturday - squash, bean and chorizo stew with HM bread
Sunday - savoury mince and tatties
Monday - lamb, lentil and squash curry with naan bread
Tuesday - tuna pesto pasta bake
Wednesday - pork and root veg braised in cider
Thursday - chilli beans on cheesy toasts

I'll make a banana cake at some point as I've got a few over-ripe banyans sitting around at the moment. :)
Back after a very long break!
  • I stuck to my plan religiously last week, was dead chuffed with myself! Here goes for this week:

    SAT: Steak sandwiches with salad
SUN: HM Chicken, leek and bacon pie with new pots and green beans.
MON: Lunchbox: Pizza swirls with salad
    Dinner: Thai green curry
TUE: Lunchbox: HM Leek and potato soup & HM rolls
    Dinner: Chilli and wedges
WEDS: Lunchbox: HM Sausage rolls with salad
    Dinnner: Jamie's 'Jools pasta'
THURS: Lunchbox: Chicken drumsticks and mini naan
Dinner: Jackets with beans & cheese
    FRI: Lunchbox: Sandwiches
Dinner: DD2 at a party & DH at work, so the golden arches will beckon to DD1 and I!

Breakfasts will be crumpets at the weekend and cereal or porridge with toast for the DD's (HM bread) and just toast for DH and I. I will make flapjacks or twinks and either a lemon drizzle cake or brownies for after school snacks.

Thank you for the thread, its much more fun doing these online than in my notebook at home. :)

I only need to plan weekends so:

Friday night: starter to be decided liver, boulangiere potatoes and creamed spinach, blackforest pudding. Finish the cheese with a pear.

and um, thats as far as I have got....I'll have a rummage in the freezer in the morning.

edit: ok...had a brief shallow dip into freezer and saw a chicken...now as we have at least three boys just hatches there will be more chicken for the freezer soon, so I think its time to eat that chap. I have a few carcasses too, so if we have him this weekend I can do a big stock batch next week....I've been putting it off for MONTHS and I'm out of chicken stock.

    so:

Starter will be something seafood, I'll see what's cheap tomorrow!,lemon and thyme (?) chicken, potato some way (I might make a big dish of boulangiere and have that twice in a row). Leeks because I have them, and broad beans....from the freezer. pudding had better be something blackberry based (also down to the freezer!)

Sunday: salad ...maybe melon based if its not expensive, cannellonni and then possibly zabaglione, but I might steer him towards some icecream to have with cake, if there is cake left over.

Its incredibly unusual for us to have three meat meals in a row, (and potato twice!) But fancy something comforting this weekend, and something low effort. Meat is because I'm a bit pale of gum ATM, so red meat is a boost.

edit again! Well, fish is off the menu for starter tonight and melon was expensive so one starter will be a salad of pears and stilton (bit boring, had it recently) and the other will be something imaginative with butter beans

Going to do some batch cooking over the weekend to make things simple
Mon-lentil dahl with quinoa, apricot kernels and salad
Tue-same lentil dahl base as monday
Wed-Refried kidney beans with raw crackers and vegan cheese
Thur-hummus pizza with apricot kernals, artichokes and some sprouted "stuff "on top
Fri-Butterbean stew with maybe some vegan chorizo
    Sat-same as friday
    Sun-Lentil flan with roasted veg

Breakfast- will either be porridge, alpro soya desserts or soup
Lunch-will be vegan scotch broth soup,or carrot & cumin scones served with a chutney.
Snacks-will be either the usual fruit, veg and raw chocolate, oatcakes etc

Most of my menu is homemade apart from the soya desserts and chorizo if it gets used.Apart from scones and oatcakes im thinking of doing a cake for the weekend, but not sure yet.My menu looks extremely simple ,but not feeling that creative at the moment, plus the garden is dead so am relying on sprouting various seeds at the moment ...

Oh I love reading the meal plans! we stuck to last week's quite well although had a surprise visit from my brother so the chicken didn't stretch as far as usual and we are down a few sausages! Here goes this week starting today:

Thursday: hm salmon and broccoli fishcakes with brown rice, peas, sweetcorn and lemon mayo.
Friday: good old egg, chips and beans!
Saturday: beef and bean burritos with salsa, cheese, creme fraiche and salad.
Sunday: roast shoulder of lamb with roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and peas + hm yorkshire puds.
Monday: bbq chicken pieces with salad and new potatoes.
Tuesday: lamb and lentil curry with brown rice and hm naans.
    Wednesday: spaghetti bolognese from freezer.

Also planning on making a batch of twinks hobnobs.. Haven't made these before so fingers crossed they turn out ok. May make some raisin and nut flapjacks too although might not as I don't think all that baking will be good for our waistlines!

    Caz x

Mon: Steak, chips, peas & peppercorn sauce (treat for my birthday and DH will cook it so even better:D), chicken nuggets for DS7
Tues: Pasta with bacon & mediterranean vegetables
Weds: Chicken & asparagus lattice, roast new potaoes & veg
Thurs: HM Mediterranean vegetable tart, new potatoes & salad
Fri: HM Chicken kievs, wedges & salad
Sat: Spanish meatballs, garlic prawns, tortilla & salad
Sun: Lamb Shanks, roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings & veg

Not much left in the freezer now, so I'll need to start buying meat again. The website for great bircham foods who I bought my last meat box from is down, does anyone know of any other good organic meat suppliers apart from DR (they are too expensive, and too many food miles for me).
