Yup: it's here!! Ordered on Monday evening, despatched from Jersey on Tuesday, arrived here at. . . 7.15am yesterday (Saturday) morning. It's the earliest the postman has ever come knocking on our door, but he was very welcome as he also delivered the £6 USB 1Gig flashdrive from Amazon (part of that amazing Hellmann's deal elsewhere on this forum).

Mrs Codger has carted the Jersey and Amazon packets away to wrap up (Gawd knows how) so I can react with infantile delight on Christmas morning & pretend I'm opening a pair of socks or shomething.

£118.99 refurbished from Fuji themselves with 6 month warranty (extendable at cost) - according to blurb may be stock returns as opposed to actual refurbished - dunno how much p&p is though.

Or £136 from Amazon.

Or just checked as typing and it is on the Currys site for £137.01 - enter 757874 in the search box.

Sooo - I was waiting until after christmas to buy (myself) a Fuji S5600 from Argos at the bargain price, but like other posters could not find one anywhere in stock! I check back today and find the price is now £150!! :mad:

What I *really* need is some lovely person to e-mail me a confirmation page, still in date, showing the lower price so that I can persuade Currys to pricematch for me

Any lovely, festive, helpers?!

Currys stated it wouldn't price-match this as it was a 'special offer or sale price' which apparently they will not match - the manager showed me the very small print on their price match leaflets displayed in store to this effect.

This is a bit of a con IMHO, price-match is a price-match, or a not on your nelly false advertising gimmick. You might be lucky & find a manager who will do it, my local store was well aware of the argos price and situation of little stock - I had a reservation at the £112 price for myself and wanted one more camera as an xmas present, but no go. Basically it's really manager discretion (it should be in stock locally but the store doesn't retain evidence of this) so depends if they can be arsed with the paperwork or are having a busy day.

It's really just confirmed existing opinion not to shop at Currys - it's always too much hassle.
