Supermarkets and call centres etc take night staff, no reason you cant work at night and your OH do the childcare. Or you could work weekends.

Could you set up a small home salon for people to visit you? I used to visit a lady who had a tiny salon in the back of her home in what was probably a utility room they had put a backwash basin in. Get customers to come to you. Price it right and it can work.

Not at all. Try advertising in your local area and see if you can just get local work. Might benefit you to also take a short course in nails so you can offer more :D

Hi, I just wanted to say I have lots of sympathy for your situation. I am currently off work caring for my son who has health problems and considering what I am going to do when I go back to work.

In my previous job I worked 30 hours a week in the office, but at least another 10 at home, sometimes more. My job was incredibly stressful and childcare was always difficult. We live in a very rural area where there arent many childcare options. I used to dread the six week summer holidays.

I loved the work and the job paid well but I had very little quality of life, when I wasnt working or spending time with the kids I was doing housework. I had absolutely no time for anything else and lost touch with all my friends because I simply didnt have time to see them.

There is a balance out there somewhere, its just difficult to find. I would love to be working again for some adult company and to be using my brain a bit - but I want to get it right this time.
