Disagree. my car a 2003 Corsa has what I think will be original blades on the front. I got it at 3 years old, so it is possible it was a service item but I doubt it.

Anyway I have had the car for atleast 4 years and they still are perfect in operation - despite me abusing them in the ice. If they are 7 - 8 years old they're doing really well.

    I think they are Bosch.

I won't change them until they tear.

If you are happy to drive with wiper blades until they fall apart, that is fine by me.;)

For me it's the lack of rain hitting the windscreen, but each to their own;)

I tend to focus through the windscreen, rather than actually look at it

I've read wiping the blade down with a spot of meths can help get older wipers to sweep cleanly and quietly again. Though it only made a minor difference for me. :(

Tip: don't drink it whilst doing so :D

I've heard vinegar has a similar effect on wipers.

I don't change mine until the bit flapping off the end becomes too distracting.

And I've found the 99p wiper rubbers inserts to be just as good as the expensive ones most of the time.

I bought cheap aero blade replacements off eBay. Never again, they were rubbish and the wiper was generic with a molded mounted connection on the blade to suit the type of aero blade connection. There was too much rotational force between the blade and the connector and it nearly ripped them off and the wipers off the screen. Binned them, bought Halfords ones but they were fine for 9 months but too narrow to keep blade down and jumped and squeaked then so ended up getting the OEM ones from the dealer which are in perfect order to this day!!

I made the mistake of buying cheap aero flat blades off ebay once. But the cheap ones from wiperblades.co.uk are good.
