Excellent Winscreen Wiper Blades

I can't believe I have just changed from Bosch wipers whch I have sworn by for years to Valeo Compact Revolutions.

I did a bit of research and the Bosch Super Plus Standard even got the best buyin the 2010 Auto Express survey. However, I just liked the comment on the Valeos "quietest on a dry screen".

I think the Bosch ones I have replaced might be the original wipers so 4-5 years old. But did they make a screech across the screen, the only time they didnt was when the rain was torrential.

OK the Valeos were £16.60 versus £11.30 for the Bosch ( for 2 plus P+P £2.45).

Not very often I get excited about a set of wiper blades, but the others have been giving me a headache for months :D

Company was:- http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ (quick delivery too ordered Monday arrived Wednesday)

Any wiper blades that are 4/5 years old are going to be well stuffed, I change mine every year.

I will stick to Bosch, I get a pair delivered for £9.50. from a reliable eBay seller based in Jersey.

I like the Valeo flat ones, even though their model numbering scheme is incredibly confusing and makes online ordering impossible.

Not sure being quiet on a dry screen is a good thing. The noise is a reminder to turn them off because it stopped raining!

I change my wipers every year!:D Not very MSE I know, but as a glasses/contact lens wearer I'm a bit anal about everything being optically clear.

I use wiperblades.co.uk too. Good service - stuff often arrives next day although they don't proclaim it in their ads. And their prices are often half the price of Halfords.

I've got PIAA silicon wipers on my car which are the best I've ever used, no juddering or noise even in the dry and they seem to last for ages, although they are very expensive.

The wipers on my wife's car are due for replacement and PIAA don't make one in that size so I'll give Valeo a try.

For me it's the lack of rain hitting the windscreen, but each to their own;)

Disagree. my car a 2003 Corsa has what I think will be original blades on the front. I got it at 3 years old, so it is possible it was a service item but I doubt it.

Anyway I have had the car for atleast 4 years and they still are perfect in operation - despite me abusing them in the ice. If they are 7 - 8 years old they're doing really well.

    I think they are Bosch.

I won't change them until they tear.
