If you're on the Virgin tarrif then you are actually classed as a contract customer. If your bills average over £35 a month over the last 6 months then the retentions department can offer you a new deal but with an average spend of around £20 a month as you seem to have indicated they won't be able to offer you a thing.
Why can't your daughter have a magic number on her phone? I was under the impression it was available to all Orange PAYG customers. I don't deal with that side of the business though so I can't be 100% on that one.0 -

Apparently my daughter can't have a magic number, not altogether sure why unless it's because I'm the account holder.
My bills have been very high for at least 4 months I'll try looking online see if I can recover them so far back.
I had my ex husbands phone in my name up untill then so my bills were usually higher than £35 with both phones.
Would it be £35 per bill.
I've always been told that I'm not really a contract customer and can't have anything at all.
I looked back at my last couple of bills and they were mostly texts with a few network calls.
I do need to text a lot as signal isn't very good where I work, for some reason I can text but not phone0 -
you cant have the free evening calls and a magic no. u can have one or the other:rolleyes:
keep your drink.....just give me the money0 -
Do what I always do when I want to complain or have a deal with orange. I contact the ceo on his e-mail address. Sanjiv.Ahuja@orange.co.uk. Have a clear idea of what you want first and then shoot off an e-mail explaining that you are a loyal customer etc. Put your phone number in the subject and one of Sanjiv's execs will contact you within a week to sort things out. They have a lot more power than retentions who are close to useless (not as useless as their customer services).
I recently complained that orange shop wanted to charge me 150 quid per handset on my 2 accounts for a w950i and a w850i. Retentions wanted to charge me 50 quid per handset on 18 month contract. Ceo/Exec office gave me 12 month contracts & both handsets for free.
I hope that helpsKwai Chi

And there's a good reason to leave Orange!!! That's why I left. Signal would drop out all the time, even with signal and my phone in front of me I would get missed call alerts and things. And I live in a "city"! Got so sick of it and the rising bills that I left. They didn't care a bit that I was going offered nothing - even though my bills were £70 a month!!!!!
Get a PAYG sim from another company and find one that has good signal in your area. Vodafone had good deals for what I wanted and the new phone I wanted. Plus I put OH down as my referrer which means he gets £50 credit to his bill too. Saved myself £50 a month too.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

did you try the simcard in another phone?
that sounds like a phone problem not a sim one to meYes Your Dukeiness0 -
It's the same with all the phones I've had which have all been Nokia except one Samsung which wouldn't have a signal at all.
No onw else can even send text from there so I am fairly lucky to be in contact at all.
We are in remote west wales which might explain the signal!!0 -
if you are on the virgin tariff it is worth keeping it as a spare if you do end up going to contract its somthing that wont be available again, what i would suggest is 2 options, the 1st is to go to a contact coz your bills are high for a virgin plan (its for occasional use) with a new no. and keep the virgin as spare or you could go to pay as you go they do 600 free evening mins to orange and 300 texts to anyone any time when you top by 10.00 the 10.00 is still there use as you please, if you top up once a month you get it if you donr you wont but you dont lose it just get it again when you top up again... not bad at all...0

They did a phone check. The same happened on my second Orange contract. The same happened for my Dad on Orange (I lived with my parents at the time). And the same thing happened for my sister on Orange when she was there too. And we weren't far from the transmitter eitherworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
