I really want to leave Orange BUT

I am really fed up with Orange at the moment.
I have a payg, for my daughter to use, which is excellent with free orange to orange very evening and free texts every month as a reward for topping up, BUT
She can't have any upgrade rewards or magic numbers on that phone.
My phone is on the "match virgin tariff" and has been for over 6 years and it's cheap so I don't really want to change.
I don't pay line rental I just get a bill at the end of the month.
Voicemail is free and text are 8.5p
I pay 15p a minute for the first 3 mins every day and 5p a minute after that.
I contact Orange regularly but they will never offer me any reward of any sort at all!
The "cut off my nose to spite my face part of me wants to tell them I'm leaving, but they would probably be happy with that!
Any ideas anyone?

Oranges offers are quite simply based on your average "spend". if your not spending enough with them they wont be interested. Sorry but they're not a charity. You have choices. There are some terrific deals out there where you get as cashback ALL of your yearly spend including getting a new phone. So what are you waiting for?:rolleyes:0

As a business they did a no win deal with you by offering you that tariff (to get you as a customer in first place). Now why would they want to reward you for hanging on to that deal?
However if you call them and say you want to upgrade, to any other tariff, they will reward you.
Its same situation with your PayG. This is because they dont do these packages any more.
Frankly your reward is that you can enjoy these low cost packages for as long as you want. "Everyday 50" is one example of that. I have seen people selling off these contracts on eBay for some serious money.0 -
I loved Everyday 50 and wish I never dropped it
I am not on 3 and they do some good deals on free minutes and texts... more then what I need to use. Luckily for me the company I work for occasionally need to call me out of hours and have decided to pay my monthly bill for me.
How much do you spend a month with Orange on PayG?
I noticed the other day that if you are an NTL/Telewest customer you can get a good deal on a sim card for £10/Month and you are not locked in to it... you can sign up and leave the month after if you wish. It's on their home page and worth checking out if you are on cable.- Matthew - Yep I'm new here

I'm only really thinking about leaving these deals because my bills have shot up the last few months.
This months is £58 which is way more than I want to pay!
Normally my bills are around £20 a month which I'm happy with, given that I ring landlines etc, but I thought if they were creeping up a bit, I moght be better off on contract and changing back to my original sim card when free minutes ran out0 -
That seriuosly means you need a new contract.
Check your usage (minutes and texts) and then pick the one that suits you at a good cashback deal.
Its also a good idea to post your minutes and texts usage here so that other people can suggest you....0 -
have a look on e2save.com where iv just bought a contract phone, you get 500 x minutes i.e. to landlines/any networks and 100 txt per month, for £14 p/m AND a free phone worth over £160+!
With regards to orange pay as you go, i was previously on that and they are one of the most expensivest, if you want to remain on payasugo look at switching to o2/t mobile who do good offers.0 -
There's nothing to stop you having more than one phone, so no reason at all to give up that OVP Virgin deal, which is actually the cheapest way to make some calls ...
Quite a bit of cost on there might be if you are calling other UK mobile networks at 35 pence a minute. And unfortunately 0871 callthrough numbers is not one of the parts of the Virgin tariff that Orange match.
But you can use 0870 callthrough numbers from PlanetTalkFree and Yourcallworld to reach some useful destinations, including UK mobiles daytime from Planet Talk (dial as an int'l number though)

Thats a good idea listing my usage on here,
I have been looking at contracts and it is such a maze!0 -
yeh i know what you mean, but its a case of finding a reliable company who will pay the cashback so you dont massively lose out like e2save. there were much better deals on other sites than what i found, but it was too much of a risk.0
