Hi,
My thoughts on this seen as you are dealing with so much bureacracy, would your MP be able to help? If you need info from social services then an MP will get info a lot faster than you!
You can't be the only person in this position, I hope you get it sorted & I am sorry your ghosts are coming back to haunt you, take care

Can I just add that there seems to be alot of peole referring to it being because of parents nationalities etc. This is the reason the law was brought out and the '82 rule enforced BUT everyone, even 20th generation UK citizens have to prove this. Not just families where it involves different nationalities/citizenships.
I would try and get an appointment to see someone face-to-face about it. They must be able to advise you how to go about getting the details you need. I think it's a good idea.
I hope you have more luck. It's not easy having to dredge up the past !!{hugs}}1 John 4: 7 & 80
