I "created" a recipe for pork chops that's simple and takes very little preperation. You need your chops, some oregano, a bit of cracked pepper and 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. (I'm basing this on 4 nice siz chops. 8 chops = 2 cans). Now, I'm from the U.S. and have always used Campbell's but any brand will do. Here's all you do. Simply sprinkle the chops with the oregano and pepper on both sides. Grill your chops until golden brown. When you go to turn them to brown the second side, pour the condensed soup (don't add milk or water, just the contents of the can) over your chops and let the whole thing simmer (lid on) for aprrox. 20 minutes (depnding on thickness of chops). As your chops are simmering, the second side is browning gently and the juices blend with the spices and soup to make it's own gravy. It's lovely served with mashed potatoes and a nice green veg. Hope you like it! Enjoy!0

Hi
My lot like pork chops roasted in the oven with roast potatoes and then served with veg (brussels, carrots, mashed swede, peas, green beans etc whatever you fancy) and gravy, sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce):rotfl: :rotfl:
Start your roasties off about half an hour before you put the chops in and just keep an eye on them and turn as neccesary.:rotfl: :rotfl:
I just cook off whatever apples I have in the fruit bowl for the apple sauce ( its not as squishy as the bought stuff but you don't need to add sugar because they are already sweet) I have never mastered making my own stuffing so I use paxo and instant gravy.:rotfl:
I hope my lot don't read this cos they are getting egg and chips tonight.
Enjoy:j :j

Grilled pork chops  They won't be dry if you don't over cook them; heat the grill first so that the grid is hot, then cook them high each side for a couple of minutes to 'seal' them, turn down the heat to medium and cook for a further 5-8mins each side depending their thickness. They are cooked when the juices run clear.
You could dry fry, but I wouldn't even consider steaming them
You could make pork parcels by using some squares of foil, put a pork chop per square of foil, drizzle with a little olive oil, add some chopped onions, herbs (sage is particularly good with pork), maybe even some chopped apples. Seal the parcels and bake in the oven.
Or, cut the chops into chunks, thread them on a skewer with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and grill for kebabs. Serve with a bed of basmati rice and your veggies. You can baste the kebabs as they cook with an olive oil/balsamic vinegar mix as they cook.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GottaGetSortedOut - that sounds very Delia SmithI remember years ago trying her recipe for something similar but these were cooked in a frying pan ... I was out to impress, but sadly all the coating fell off and it ended up a right old mess (for me!
). Prefer the your Dad's idea of baking them in the oven, might give it a 2nd go

I like to put my pork chops in a roasting dish and then top them with sliced onions and apples and a knob of butter (and salt and pepper). I bake them in the oven for about 40 minutes to an hour and they are lovely and the onion and apple goes all chewy.Jane

I buy a lot of pork chops from tescos Reduced section. It says grill for 12 mins or something like that--but they come out like pit boots fried in onions. Has anybody found a way to make them tender ?0

hi
I find I have to cook them slowly ... which is a mare when the grill has 1 setting!!
also, I do a coating of Tesco Value Apple Sauce on the last turn, dont' know if that helps really, but I find they're not as tough as without...
enjoy!

Slow oven in a covered dish. Give them at least an Hr.
That is the only way for tender meat. Long and slow.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
