Is someone winding me up?

our house has been on the market 2 weeks, we were due to have our second viewer at midday on saturday, but they didnt show, i think due to the weather.
the EA contacted us saying the viewer hed resheduled for today, cue the cleaning(show home style declutter) again. plus i had to rush home from work at lunch before the viewing to take the dog up to my parents.
i then get a call at work saying that the viewer has pulled out again due to their car not starting, and they wanted to reshedule for Saturday.

has anyone else experienced this? or is it someone winding us up?

You take the rough with the smooth in the cesspit of the property world, i'm afraid.

Let us now how you feel after 5 months rather than just 2 weeks!

2 in 3 prospective tenants fail to keep appointments for rental property viewing.

1 in 2 plumbers fail to come as arranged to quote for work.

People who have never done that mental cleaning thing before, clearly.

They're either FTBs or they live in a filthy hole that no-one will want to buy so they won't be able to complete the chain for you. If they've tried to book yet again, they're either very keen but incredibly unlucky, or winding you up.

Once is bad enough, but twice! I'd try to double them up with another viewing so you've got a chance of at least one person turning up! In fact, if you can double up any viewings at all, it will make viewers see there is other interest in the house ;)

Welcome to the world of all businesses who deal with 'the general public'.
  • I do sympathise. We've been on the market a month and only had 2 viewings, which is depressing enough anyway.

The first booked viewer cancelled with 10 minutes to spare, after we had spent hours getting the house pristine. They said they would reschedule, but we never heard from them again.

I am dreading this going on for months if not years.

I wouldn't be surprised if the EA's had something to do with the cockups. I viewed a few properties (which I had to take days off for as they wouldn't do them outside of the working day), and the EA didn't even turn up for them to let us in. Phone the EA and they tell us that they need to rearrange.
