Vodafone new customer problem!
I would be very interested to know if anyone else has had issues with a similar situation.
On March 6th Hubs signed up for a vodafone sim only contract on a good deal via quidco, we heard nothing until the 9th of March when he received an email asking him to phone customer services to confirm his date of birth.
He replied to the email giving his DOB (which was on the original order anyway) and informing them that if he rang to confirm then he would breach the T&C`s of the "wholly completed online" stipulations of going through a cashback site.
We have had no reply whatsoever from Vodafone and can`t ring because as i posted the cashback would not be payable, i have heard in the past that this can be a sneaky way of skanking on the cashback payments and its generally not recommended.
If Vodafone don`t reply to emails then we may have had a lucky escape re the customer service side of things. It seems that they don`t really want new customers.
I`m now scouring through deals of other providers and waiting for a good offer to turn up but what will happen to the Vodafone order if they never bother to reply?
Any advice would be appreciated.

If it's a security issue they won't deal with it via email. You'll have to call them or they'll just cut you off for not responding.
Its unlikely to effect your cash back and any way, with Voda, cash backs iffy at the best of times. If its does track, it many take months/years to pay out (if at all).0 -

Thanks for your reply Jon,
the cashback has tracked ok but the sim hasn`t even been sent out yet.
I don`t understand how it could be a security issue as they already have the DOB from the original application. We have had contracts with O2, 3 and T-Mobile before and have never had this issue before so it is very frustrating.
Even more so that ringing up can affect one of the reasons for applying in the first place GRRRR!
I`m going to have a nosy and see if there is a cooling off period i think.

If the sims not been sent that's a sign something flagged up somewhere, that's why they want you to call in.
There might have been some doggy activity in your area they're playing safe. Or they may just be doing a extra layer of security on some new connections and yours is one of them. There are a number of reasons.
Under the distance selling reg you have 7 days to change your mind, as you don;t even have the sim yet the 7 days haven't even started yet !0 -
Thanks very much for this information Jon, it is much appreciated.
I shall have a word with DH later and ask whether or not he wants to cancel it.
Thanks again.

This only happens when you phone up and a new order is raised rather than the original one that tracks.
It's easy enough to check if you have had a reply from voda that quotes an order number and you make sure it's the one they use
As Jon says you can cancel up to 7 working days which starts following the day you rec the sim so plenty of time. It's not just about the money0 -
Thanks very much for your reply Silk, we do have the order number which is on the email that Vodafone sent confirming the order and also on one of the many screen grabs that were taken at the time.
Hopefully if DH still wants to go ahead then we shouldn`t have any problems.
Thanks again for your help.

Thats good that you have it .....all you need to do is ensure anything you get later that the order number does not changeThanks very much for your reply Silk, we do have the order number which is on the email that Vodafone sent confirming the order
And then find something to do for the next few years whilst your waiting for the cashback of course :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It's not just about the money0 -

Lol @ the cashback wait, we have sucessfully had cashback from all the companies that we have used so far, granted it does take a while to materialise but it makes the contract a much better deal.
I think that the longest payout so far was from O2 at 7 months, Three were by far the fastest taking 3 months from start to finish

The worst I had was about 8 months for insurance and a fall out about Mint credit card which is a long story, so don't use much apart from purchases I would normaly make. Vodafone seems to have had some severe problems to a few people on here though for Quidco and gone on for a lot longer than 7 months (in fact we had better keep quiet otherwise Guys Dad will start about it againI think that the longest payout so far was from O2 at 7 months, Three were by far the fastest taking 3 months from start to finish

) but I think those problems have sorted themselves out now
