I'm looking at this to replace my Egg Money card when it changes to a Barclaycard. I only use this for work expenses so the balance is always paid off every month but I would need a limit of £2-3,000 to cover flights and hotels for business trips, mainly to the US (where Amex is more widely accepted than it is here)
Hi. I have just (today in fact) closed my Egg Credit Card after receiving the cashback. I had a credit limit on this card of £3,000 for over a year. I tried to increase this limit slightly a couple of times over the internet but Egg wouldn't let me! Last night I applied for the new MBNA Amex card and the site also crashed for me but this morning I rang them and they confirmed that I had been approved for the card and my credit limit will be £3,800.0 -

Thanks. That's useful information. I have also just received my Egg cashback. My limit was also about £3,000 and Egg were never willing to increase. Having that on a new card would be fine but a limit of £1000 wouldn't be enough as it wouldn't cover a week in the US.
I'm still trying to decide between this card and the BA Amex.0 -

Are you claiming back expenses? If not, any card charging commission on foreign currency transactions overshadows the normal cashback (1-1.5% cashback vs. ~3% fx fee). It's obviously better value with the cashback, but still better without the random fee added...Enjoy the silence...0 -
A quick update on my post above - gave them a call earlier today have been approved for the card. I closed the Amazon-MBNA card at the same time so have kept the credit available the same....sweet:j0

Yes, this would be for claiming back expenses. We claim for the exact price in pounds from the credit card statement. Last year I made over £150 on on Egg Money card.0 -
When I applied earlier this week a message appeared after the timer had done it's bits saying that I'd been accepted. Only applied for it's petrol cashback, I feel mugged every time I fill up but sooooooo love driving!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

At 01.37 this morning I got an email from MBNA confirming I have been successful in my application, and confirming the credit limit.
Really please that I'll be saving 1.5% on my diesel costs.
