New mbna Amex cashback

Just applied for this card, having followed the link from the mse email.

All went as expected, this little clock/timer thing went round at the end saying processing application, this could take 60 seconds, then I was accepted! The screen said what my credit limit would be, and that I'd get the card in 5-7 days. it also said something about emailing me details of my application.

Within a few seconds, the site kinda crashed, and there was a small window in the middle of the screen saying that the application part of the site was unavailable at the moment, or words to that effect.

So, have I been successful in my application, did it fail, or worse, have I been had? I've had no email from MBNA AMEX so far.

Best wishes

Chris

Exactly the same thing happened when I applied for the card this evening! Will have to wait a few days and, if no response, will have to ring them.

I have have received the following msg after completing the online application:
Thank you for applying for the MBNA credit card.
To give you application the best chance of being approved we'd like to talk over your details with you. So please call us on 0800 7316966....

Not sure if their website now broken! I have another mbna card and a Amazon card (managed by mbna) so that could also be the reason - will give them a call tomorrow to see what they say

My online application crashed at the end too. I rang up MBNA. The nice lady said the website does do that but they had got all my details and I would be getting my card soon.

Is it worth applying for one of these or going for the Tesco credit card?

What kind of credit limit are MBNA offering?

I'm looking at this to replace my Egg Money card when it changes to a Barclaycard. I only use this for work expenses so the balance is always paid off every month but I would need a limit of £2-3,000 to cover flights and hotels for business trips, mainly to the US (where Amex is more widely accepted than it is here)

Did any of you folks who applied for the new MBNA Amex Cashback Card find out when the cashback is paid? Is it monthly..or???

    Thanks.

Thanks for that. Shame..I was hoping it would be on a monthly basis. My existing (Smile) card was the only one worth having, to my mind, when I got it a couple of years back as it was the only one at the time paying it on a monthly basis.

I really want the benefit of receiving the 1.5% cashback on petrol sales at my local supermarket in my pocket every month. Who knows what the situation will be regarding prices next January . Might not even be in a position then to afford running a car :(.
