Right, situation as it stands at the moment, plannin to get rid of Primera, (its old and needs to much money spending on it, to keep it on the rd)
Will wanting to spend up to £3k on its replacement, and it needs to be an estate and preferably diesel.
Now i am leaning towards Mondeos, but i am not discounting other makes.
I know the Mazda 6 is Mondeo based, but are they comparable, same with the Saab 9-5,based on the Vectra platform?
How large are the Rover75/MG ZTT estates?? (i like the look of the MG version, i know sad ....)
I have seen some Avensis estates, but not in my price range.
Economy is not my main buying point,I need comfort and ease of driving as i will have to commute for a prospctive new job.

mazda 6's are big trouble. I bought two for work and they have been money pits; weak clutches, stupid dmf flywheels, turbo oil seals failing.
One siezed up and sold on, the other is on clutch number three and gearbox number two at 100k miles.
I have a volvo v40 which is rock solid
older mazda 626 estates are fantastic but rare0 -
Consider a Skoda Octavia, rock solid. Make sure you know which engine you are getting but there are 3 or 4 different power outputs even from the 1.9.0

Audi A4. Nuff said. If you look hard enough, you'll find a very good example for the price you want and the colour you want it in. (service history is a must.) 40MPG city, and 60MPG motorway, volkswagen engines AND they look kinda nice (I hate estates...) What else could you want?
They come in a variety. The PD130 is a better bet (130bhp) loads of torque, should handle anything you through at it. Stay away from the 2.5tdi though. Diesel guzzler, I tell ya!0 -
Whatever you buy, it will not be as good as your old Primera, assuming it is a pre year 2000, pre Renault one.
Oh and you will need to change your user ID on here.0 -
