This is what helped me. http://groups.msn.com/FreedomFromTobaccoQuitSmokingNow I honestly don't know if I could have done it without them. If you're educated about your quit it really does make things easier. I found that place about 24 hours into my cold turkey quit and I was just desperate for information, not just gumpf off a leaflet or something. I just read and read and read and it demystified the whole thing. It made me realise that comfort would come and it took the worry out of it.
Hopefully my stats will be encouraging! You may just have a baby quit right now but nurture it and it will grow into a big clever quit. :T I think putting it in your signature is a great idea, any excuse to parade your stats I say.
Free and healing for 2 Years, 5 Months, 2 Weeks, 21 hours and 17 minutes (897 days). I have saved £5,387.31 by not smoking 26,936 cigarettes. My Quit Date: 08/06/2004I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -

It's a good idea, but tbh I can't be @r$ed updating it every day. I have the quit date on there though

Ive been a 20 a day girl for the last 15 years and to my amazement (and everyone elses!) the Paul Mckenna CD helped me do this....
:T :T :T
I recommend his hypnosis cd to anyone, I felt stupid listening to the first half to start with but the second half (the actual hypnotic/relaxation bit) was so good I put it on every day, just half an hour a day of pure relaxation and you wake up feeling totally refreshed.
Also, a little tip i picked up somewhere else...
On the day you give up, make a chart, put the date on it and put a tick on it everytime you want to light up (there will be LOTS the 1st day!)
do the same the next day and the next and even though you dont feel any better for the 1st week it will really spur you along that without even reasling it you have ticked the chart less and less every day,
I just dug out my chart for an example for you
1st day I ticked 56 times
2nd day 38
3rd day 28
4th day 26
5th day 16
6th day 11
7th day 9
8th/9th/10th days 4
and after that it just wasnt worth ticking the book!0 -

The patches bought me out in red rashes.
Cannot believe that i am no longer a slave to cigarettes, although still want one sometimes.
Well done to all that have quit and planning to quit and thanks to Jessiecamb and everyone for support.:T

Curious George, thanks, great post! I tried hypnotherapy years ago, but I couldn't take the therapist seriously when she and her whole house stank of cats and fags - horrible. I pretended to be hypnotised just to humour her.:rotfl:
My next option if AC failed would have been to try a hypnotherapy CD. Fortunately I haven't needed it, but I think it would have had a better chance of working (for me) than NRT.still a SF nerd no.1:o
