    How's everyone doing?
Gave up in Oct. been on Niquitin cq 4mg then went to 2mg last week.
Still got a real urge for a fag, but stop and think - I'll stink - my house will stink.
A friend came to mine the other day, asked if OK to light up, she did and after she'd gone had the 'orrible stale nicotine smell - got the incense sticks out.
When I feel the urge I take really three very deep breaths, and the urge goes away _ for a while!
Went to a Hypnotherapist, very helpfull, gave me a CD of session.
Can copy, if allowed (!) if you want one PM me

Good for you skip, keep at it!!!!

The smell is horrible, though, isn't it? To think I smelled like that once. Eeewwww. Now I smell bad in different ways :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The real urge for the fag is down to the fact that you are still putting nicotine in to your body. It will go, but accept that it will be there while you are on the patches and don't give it too much thought

Smoke free thoughts are with you, and every other SFW
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood

Hello peeps, hope everyone is coping with being smoke-free over the Xmas/New Year break. I've not had a fag since the beginning of September and am managing OK apart from having to turn sideways to get through doors - seriously!
Stopped using the gum in November but just noticed that Tesco has it on offer online and thought I would post it here. You can get 2 X 96-piece packs of Nicotinell 1mg or 2mg for £22 the lot as opposed to £13.58.:)
That said, I think I bought a 96-piece box in-store in October for around £11.
    Anyway, HTH:)

The gum is also for sale in "Bodycare" (I know they have a branch in Bradford, not sure they do anywhere else?) at £1.50 for 20 pieces if anyone's interested. However I can't recommend Neil Casey highly enough - no need for gum, patches, lozenges or nasal sprays either!

Allen Carr's book worked for me. I knew I was a non smoker before I got to the end of the book!

I was smoking 40 a day, and knew I should give up but didn't really want to. I read Allan Carr's Easyway for Women to Stop Smoking (or a similar title to that) once; it struck me as very American and I thought I'd get to the end of it and just carry on as normal, but the end came, I smoked the last cigarette as instructed and I haven't had one since then: June 2006.

I still love the smell of cigarettes, but don't feel the need to have them. I'm very angry that the NHS can't/won't recommend this method, as willpower is not required, and they won't advertise any smoking cessation products without saying willpower required.

I'm adding my name to this, I've been smoke free since November 09, used Champix on prescription and seeing as I am going to be living longer, I need to save more money to make it enjoyable!
